Abstract
In this paper, techniques based on deconvolution alongside the unit step response of a measuring system are utilized to correct lightning impulse voltage used in high-voltage withstand tests. A mathematical derivation of the techniques is presented and employed to mitigate the non-ideal influences of measuring instruments on recorded data. To mitigate the impact of undesired high-frequency noise associated with deconvolution, the transfer function of the error correction model is determined by fitting parameters derived from the unit step response of the measuring system under consideration. Additionally, a low-pass filter with an appropriate cut-off frequency is applied alongside the error correction model. The efficacy of this approach is illustrated through a practical example involving a measuring system. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques was evaluated through comparison with results obtained from a reference measuring system. The evaluated results indicate that the step response correction in the proposed techniques can significantly reduce the errors of lightning impulse voltage waveform parameters.
