Abstract
This paper presents the pressure control by using generalized predictive controller (GPC) for the pneumatic-pressure-load system at which electro-pneumatic proportional pressure valve is employed as actuator. Since characteristic of one is time-varying and nonlinear, a three-order controlled auto-regressive moving average (CARMA) model suitable for pneumatic actuator is then used to modeling process system by using recursive least-squares method with forgetting factor to estimate the model parameter. For the proposed control method, system parameters are estimated only, state parameters are not. Experimental results show, both open and closed loop response, that overshoot happen for open loop response is eliminated and steady-state pressure is accurate enough. © 2008 IEEE.
