Abstract
This paper presents the development of a low cost prototype of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) for counting the ESD and/or lightning events. The information obtained by the developed circuit is useful for engineer in industrial sector. Electromagnetic wave generated by ESD/Lightning events is captured by the radio frequency circuit. The developed system can detect the ESD event and can be used to improve the reliability and performance of electrical utility. In addition, the developed system is not expensive when compared to the commercial product.
