Cu-doped TiO 2 nanopowder synthesized by sonochemical process

Abstract
A sonochemical method has been proven as a versatile and promising technique for generating a variety of novel materials metal oxide[1]. Recently, it has been reported that the fundamental properties of TiO 2 can be enhanced by many techniques such as doping with variety elements and composited with compatible materials[2-3]. In the present work, the attempt was carried out to synthesize Cu-doped TiO 2 nanopowder by sonochemical process via a precursor solution of titanium isopropoxide and copper nitrate trihydrate. As-synthesized products were calcined at various temperature ranging from 500-900C. The physical microstructure and morphology of as-calcined nanopowder were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) Transmission electron microscopy(TEM). © 2012 IEEE.
