Abstract

This work describes an integrable circuit technique to implement the recently defined active circuit block, namely a voltage differencing inverting buffered amplifier (VDIBA), suitable for integration in BiCMOS technology. The proposed VDIBA is composed of the differential-input transconductance amplifier as an input stage, and the unity-gain inverting voltage amplifier as an output stage. The circuit has been designed using bipolar and MOS transistors, in order to achieve the advantages of the both technologies. The performances of the realized VDIBA element are analyzed and discussed in detail. Simulation results with 0.35μm BiCMOS real process parameters verify the expected performance of the proposed circuit. As an application example, the proposed VDBA is employed to realize a canonical and resistorless first-order allpass filter.
