Abstract

The robotic arm is a robot that is used in the manufacturing industry. It has been used as a substitute for human labor in continuous work on 24 hours a day, tasks that need to be repeated all the time, dangerous jobs, and hard work that humans cannot do. Usually, humans can do everything; however, they are not able to work continuously for a long time because humans get tired and so they need to rest. This paper proposes a development of base of robot arm using Finite Element Analysis method to analyze and evaluate of the material of new base of robot arm. The influential factors affecting the parts of base of robot arm are studied and analyzed. The results of the plastic PA GF30 show that can be used to replace the cast iron base, the plastic material will reduce the overall cost material by 15 %. and the weight reduce from cast iron by 80 %
