Item type:Publication, Temperature Distribution and Combustion Characteristics of Rice Husks in a Fluidized Bed Combustor(2022-01-01); ;Wongcharee, Khwanchit; ; Saysroy, AnuchaThis article presents an experimental study on the combustion characteristics of rice husks in a fluidized bed combustor (FBC). In the experiments, the FBC was tested with rice husk feeding rates ranging from 10-15.5 kg/hr to yield percent excess air (EA) between 25% and 35%. The axial and radial temperature distribution within the FBC was measured at a selected location while gas emissions were also monitored. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the maximum exhaust gas temperature is between 852 and 950 °C. In the exhaust gas emission analysis, CO is in the range of 951-1452 ppm, NO between 271 ppm and 303 ppm, CO<inf>2</inf> between 6.5% and 9.5%, and O<inf>2</inf> between 5.1% and 12.8%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, SVM-based stator fault diagnosis for induction motors using DQ0 voltage components(2010-10-01); ; Chunwiphat, SuphotThis paper presents a new technique for diagnosis of stator winding shorted turns in three phase induction motors using support vector machine (SVM) as a classifier in conjunction with a voltage signature analysis as feature extraction. The proposed dqO voltage components related to three phase voltages are obtained by using Park's transformation. Unlike general dqO quantity, the required dq components are considered from only harmonics in a certain range resulted from the stator shorted turn fault whilst the required zero component is determined from the fundamental voltage excitation only. The procedure for finding the harmonic spectrum associated with the stator fault employs a FFT technique together with digital signal processing in order to enlarge such harmonics to be easily detected. The data of d, q and zero components will be used as the input features for a SVM classification and diagnosis. In order to confirm that the dqO voltage components could be used as quantity for identifying the stator fault, patterns of dqO voltage components in three-dimension are plotted. The obtained trajectories are obviously different depending on the severity of the shorted turn fault. In training and testing with a multiclass-SVM classification, the good accuracy is obtained under various load conditions for both healthy and stator fault conditions. The SVM classification performance of the proposed method has high accuracy greater than 98% comparable to other feature extraction processes such as a motor current signature method (MCSA) but the number of training data and features for the proposed technique are less. © 2010 ICIC International. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Stator faults detection based on the dq0 voltage components(2008-10-30); This paper presents the technique for detection of shorted turns in stator winding of induction motors. The strategy is based on the dq0 voltage components. The proposed technique determines dq components of time domain of harmonics obtained from Park transformation instead of the stator phase voltage. Zero component (0) is calculated from the fundamental voltage excitation only. In the testing, the supply is sinusoidal waveform and the motor must be star connected with floating neutral. From experimental results, pattern of dq0 voltage components in order to use for the stator faults detection is possible. ©2008 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study of three-phase self-excited induction generator operating as single-phase induction generator supplying non-linear load(2021-05-19) ;Nakorn, Panurak ;Machot, Parinya; This paper presents the operating study of three- phase to single-phase for a self-excited induction generator (SEIG). The Simulation model is analyzed by using Matlab/Simulink for explaining behavior or effect of this model, when the SEIG supplies power to loads under various conditions such as startup, dynamic response, steady state, on load, linear load and non-linear load. The study proposes appropriate capacitor for building up voltage. From the study, it is found that additional reactive power supplied to the load system is needed for maintaining terminal voltage. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, The classification of regular and defected low voltage XLPE cable by using polarization and depolarization current method(2017-10-19) ;Singhasivanon, J.; ; Jirasuwankul, N.Electric cable is an important part of utility power and distribution system. In order to keep the system operation safely and reliable, acceptance testing for cable is necessary not only inservice but also manufacturing process. This paper proposes a novel testing technique which is able to classify the difference between normal and defective low voltage XLPE cable, namely polarization and depolarization current technique (PDC). In this study, PDC testing of low voltage XLPE cable was performed comparatively among five different cases: cable contaminated with a piece of paper, case 2 : cable contaminated with a piece of plastic, case 3 : cable contaminated with grease, case 4 : cable contaminated with a piece of copper, and case 5 : Eccentric conductor cable. With environmental control of the testing process, the test results show the polarization current of the defective contaminated cable with copper is higher than that of the regular one, whereas it is lower than that of the defective one with paper, plastic and grease. It is also found that there was indistinctive of PDC in case of copper contaminated and eccentric conductor cable.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A nonintrusive beef grading evaluation based on marbling fat imaging by using K-Means Clustering Technique(2024-03-01); ; ; Jirasuwankul, N.An alternative technique of beef quality assessment and grading was proposed using image analysis based on the K-means clustering algorithm as a semi-automated and nonintrusive approach. An input image of the rib-eye meat area was converted into L*a*b* color space, followed by classifying groups of features over the spatial domain. By performing a search and cluster, iterating the features of the target image in a*b* axes resulted in several distinct image zones categorized by different K-groups of features. Marbling fat was estimated in conjunction with quality assessment as an arbitrary grading system. Experimental testing on both synthetic and real image data suggested accuracy better than 95% of averaged. As comparison to conventional methods, this technique is nonintrusive, nondestructive, fast and economic for application and implementation as a measuring tool in the meat research industry.3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Fault detection and protection of three-phase induction motor using Eigen based analysis(2016-10-24) ;Stapornirun, Somsak ;Tangsiriworakul, ChanwitThis research presents the design and the implementation of a system for detecting and preventing external faults of 3 phase induction motor using Eigen based analysis, in order to prevent faults in various pattern and reduce the complexity of data processing. The 6 inputs are composed of three-phase voltage and current signals for the induction motor. These inputs will be calculated for the root mean square values before the Eigen based analysis and Euclidean Distance calculation. These values are comparable to which of the normal condition of the induction motor, in order to identify the faults in 6 conditions of Single Phase, Over Voltage, Under Voltage, Over Load, Unbalance Voltage and Locked Rotor. The software is designed by MATLAB program connecting with the DAQ card for controlling the 6 signal inputs receiving and sending an output signal to control power supply relay to the induction motor. After the experiment under the various loading conditions was conducted, the system can detect and prevent the external faults in 6 conditions satisfactorily.1
