Item type:Publication, Chainsaw location finding based on travelling of sound wave in air and ground(2020-04-08) ;Jubjainai, Phumpichet ;Pathomwong, Sittichai ;Siripujaka, Poom ;Chiengmai, NaChaiboot, AnekDeforestation is a major problem in the world because it affects to temperature and increasing carbon dioxide. In this research, it is therefore proposed that the sound signal inspection of chainsaw which take place from deforest activity and localize the position of deforesting by using the sound signal detection of chainsaw that travels in two mediums are in the air and soil and find the time difference which two waves in both medium travel to the observer or the detector. The correlation operation is used to determine the time difference to calculate the distance between the sound source and the observer and find the direction of the sound source by rotating the microphone to get the most magnitude of sound and take the direction and distance to specify the location of the loggers. Which the proposed system is low complexity and energy-saving and can move easily. From the system test, it was found that the accuracy was 95%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Distance Measurement Technique Using Phase Difference of Two Reflected Ultrasonic Frequencies(2018-09-11) ;Chongchamsai, Munchuphon ;Sinchai, Sakkarin; Boonjun, SurapolThis paper proposes a simple method of distance measurement utilizing phase difference of two reflected ultrasonic frequencies. To obtain the phase difference, an alternating signal which contains two sinusoidal signals having different frequencies is fed to an ultrasonic transmitter. When the transmitted signal is reflected and received by the ultrasonic receiver, the received signal is first squared. Then, a time shift property of Fourier transform is applied to the squared signal to acquire the phase difference. The phase difference is converted to a time-of-flight (TOF) value and turned to the distance. To experiment the proposed technique, a DSP TMS620C6713 board is employed to generate the alternating signal as well as to receive the reflected signal, and to process the received signal. In the experiment, two sinusoidal signals having frequencies of 39.85 kHz and 40.6 kHz are used. The results show that the obtained distance by the presented approach has fairly low error only 0.15 centimeters compared to the actual distance. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A temperature-insensitive VCO and derivative PWM signal generator(2001-12-01) ;Siripruchyanun, MontreeA novel Schmitt trigger oscillator able to generate square/triangular wave is proposed. Its advantages are that the oscillation frequency and amplitudes are independent of not only temperature but also power supply voltage. Electronic adjustment of the oscillation frequency can be obtained with wide sweep range and DC offset adjustment available. In addition, the proposed scheme can produce frequency-constant derivative of PWM signal. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Reliability optimization of topology communication network design using an improved ant colony optimization(2009-09-01) ;Watcharasitthiwat, KanyapatNetwork design problem is a well-known NP-hard problem which involves the selection of a subset of possible links or a network topology in order to minimize the network cost subjected to the reliability constraint. To overcome the problem, this paper proposes a new efficiency algorithm based on the conventional ant colony optimization (ACO) to solve the communication network design when considering both economics and reliability. The proposed method is called improved ant colony optimizations (IACO) which introduces two addition techniques in order to improve the search process, i.e. neighborhood search and re-initialization process. To show its efficiency, IACO is applied to test with three different topology network systems and its results are compared with those obtained results from the conventional approaches, i.e. genetic algorithm (GA), tabu search algorithm (TSA) and ACO. Simulation results, obtained these test problems with various constraints, shown that the proposed approach is superior to the conventional algorithms both solution quality and computational time. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. Item type:Publication, A new automated heart defect detection based on signals and systems concept(2006-12-01) ;Phanphaisarn, Wasu; ; ;Teeyapant, AssadaTeeyapant, SupavarnIn this paper, a new automated early-stage detection of heart defect is introduced. Based on the proposed technique, human heart is modeled as a pump system where ECG signal and PCG signal are defined to be command (input) and response (output) of the system, respectively. The ratio of discrete Fourier transform of both signals is employed to determine the transfer function H <inf>p</inf>(k) of a patient's heart system. The early-stage heart defect detection is fundamentally based on the correlation between the standard transfer function H<inf>s</inf>(k) and the patient heart transfer function H<inf>p</inf> (k). The obtained correlation measurement is fed to be the input of neural network to make decision whether or not patient's heart is normal. The proposed method provides satisfying results where negative and positive false rates approximately are 12.50% and 11.11%, respectively. ©2006 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Economic and reliability of telecommunication network design using multiple Tabu search algorithm(2004-06-28) ;Premprayoon, PatompornThis paper propose a new heuristic optimization approach for optimal telecommunication networks design considering both economics and reliability. Tabu Search Algorithms are controlled by central program in order to they cooperate with other. This algorithm is called Multiple Tabu Search Algorithm (MTSA). It improves the performance of the classical Tabu Search algorithm (TS) providing better computation time and enhancing solution accuracy. However, MTSA is similar to TS in that both methods avoid the local optimum and search for the global optimum. This approach is interested on the model of the reality telecommunication network. Simulation results on multiple test problems with various degrees of constraint show that this approach has high efficiency and is superior to the conventional Tabu algorithm. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Development of a Phase-Locked Loop Circuit in Running Frequency Mode for Capacitance-to-Voltage Conversion(2025-01-01) ;On-Khong, Tada ;Sisuk, Noppadon; ;Katman, RatchanooPrompak, KriangsakCapacitance-to-voltage conversion is essential for capacitive sensors in various industries, including touch interfaces, medical devices, and moisture measurement. However, circuit design faces challenges like non-linearity, noise, and small capacitance variations affecting voltage signals. This article proposes a phase-locked loop in free-running oscillator mode with a frequency-to-voltage converter to enhance accuracy and stability. Test results show a 97.9% measurement accuracy, demonstrating reduced noise and improved stability. Item type:Publication, Amplitude demodulation based on time-varying forced input of second-order oscillator circuit(2009-12-01) ;Kittipute, K.; In this article, a novel coherent amplitude demodulation based on time-varying force function of secondorder oscillator circuit and injection locking Phenomenon is proposed. The compactness of demodulation circuit is obtained because amplitude demodulation mechanism is inherent in one oscillator circuit. With injection locking property, frequency and phase of the oscillator is identical to that of the transmitted carrier. Based on time varying force function which is an AM signal, coherent demodulation is taken place. In laboratory experiment, the Colpitts oscillator at UHF band is employed where experimental results agree well with the proposed principle. ©2009 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Novel Double Slope Frequency Shift Chirp Symbol(2024-01-01) ;Kirasamuthranon, Lerson; One of the most significant concerns in serial digital communication is the synchronization of data bits between the transmitter and receiver. Therefore, the preferred coding symbols should contain an inherited clock signal. The cyclic-shift chirp, which is primarily used in long-range systems, employs a single slope in a symbol, which contains few information for synchronization. Hence, two new forms of cyclic-shift chirp symbols are proposed herein. The associated coding schemes are based on the use of a dual slope within one symbol. Synchronization is inherited in the coding symbol using a dual slope. Additionally, both proposed coding schemes utilize the same decoding technique. The decoded chirp symbol is in the form of a pulse width modulation signal, which can be used for synchronization and retrieving data bits from their duty cycle. The simulation results show that the coding and decoding processes of the proposed coding schemes align with those of a theoretical framework. The error performance analysis for the proposed detection scheme is given and the results of error probability analysis are consistent with the simulation results. Moreover, under a Rayleigh fading channel, the proposed coding schemes provide superior performance compared with other comparable coding schemes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Inverse tangent based adaptive IIR notch filter(2006-12-01) ;Punchalard, R.; The inverse tangent based second-order adaptive IIR notch filter (ITANF) is presented in this paper. It is well known that the gradient-based adaptive IIR notch filter (ANF) has inherent low convergence speed due to the flattened error function. Moreover, the magnitude of error function depends on magnitude of sinusoid which implies that the speed of convergence of the gradient-based adaptive algorithm also depends on the magnitude of an input signal. To improve such drawback, the new inverse tangent based adaptive algorithm for a second order IIR notch filter is therefore proposed. The proposed algorithm employs the ratio of output to input signals as an error criterion where the inverse tangent value of the ratio is employed to adapt the filter parameter. It is found that the proposed algorithm provides not only high speed convergence but also high impulse noise robustness. The simulation results confirm that the performance of the proposed algorithm has been improved over the conventional ANF. ©2006 IEEE.
