Abstract
This paper presents algorithm for three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverters space-vector modulation. The proposed method divides the reference vector locus into non-uniform six intervals in a sector and calculates on-times for switching state of each interval. The selection of switching sequence corresponds with the even harmonic elimination condition of fundamental frequency output. The dwell-time calculation is based on transforming three-level vector to two-level vector for simplicity. The results of implementation using the low-cost microcontroller test-set with a three-phase induction motor show that the three-phase three-level inverter can operate successfully.
