    Enhancing Project-Based Blended Learning (PJBBL) Model in Algorithm Design: A Comprehensive Needs Analysis

    This research explores the potential of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and the Cloud Education Model in Algorithm Design education. Through a multifaceted approach, the study identifies the specific needs of teachers and students when adopting the project-based learning model. In an experimental study, it used the PJBBL model in the domain of algorithm design education. A pre-test and post-test experimental design were used to reach a conclusion. Twenty teachers and 100 BS students were randomly selected from the college for interviews and questionnaire administration, respectively, whereas 66 students were selected through cluster sampling for experimentation. A pre-test-post-test design was used for the experiment, whereas descriptive statistics besides MANOVA were used to analyze the data. The study results indicate that the PJBBL model has shown promising outcomes in enhancing students' algorithm design and analysis capabilities. Integrating real-world projects and blended learning methods has deeply engaged students, fostering a better understanding of algorithmic concepts and their practical application. Teachers' feedback has shed light on effective pedagogical strategies, enabling them to create a conducive learning environment and support students in their algorithmic learning. The research demonstrates the efficacy of the Project-Based Blended Learning (PJBBL) model in Algorithm Design and Analysis education.

    A quasi-experimental study of lab rotation integrated with generative AI and peer code review model to enhance students’ critical thinking and academic resilience in introductory programming

    Lab rotation provides a dynamic and interactive learning environment; generative artificial intelligence can help novices overcome learning challenges; and peer code review offers a collaborative learning environment. This study investigates how incorporating these designs into a new instructional model can enhance students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. A total of 83 first-year college students participated in the experiment, which lasted 6 weeks. The students were from two classes, majored in Educational Technology, and were enrolled in an introductory programming course titled ‘C Programming’. Class 1 was randomly selected as the control group and Class 2 as the experimental group. The experimental group and the control group were taught by the same teacher. The control group employed the traditional programming teaching method, whereas the experimental group utilized a new instructional model comprising four learning stations: instruction, lab, teacher-led, and review stations. All participants took a critical thinking test and an academic resilience questionnaire before and after the experiment. The results showed no significant difference in critical thinking and academic resilience between the pretest groups. In contrast, the post-test results showed that the experimental group’s critical thinking and academic resilience significantly outperformed those of the control group. The findings highlight the effectiveness of the instructional model on students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. This study is the first to integrate lab rotation, generative artificial intelligence, and peer code review into the design of a new instructional model for introductory programming and to demonstrate its effectiveness in enhancing students’ critical thinking and academic resilience. This study can serve as a reference for future studies.

    Project-based blended learning for vocational education: Enhancing digital marketing competencies and team spirit

    Developing digital marketing competencies and team spirit is essential in vocational education to cope with the digital economy’s demands. Based on the needs assessment of vocational students and related literature research, this study discusses how to develop and implement the project-based Blended Learning (PjBBL) model and evaluates its effectiveness in enhancing digital marketing competencies and team spirit among vocational students. The research employs a quasi-experimental design with 90 students from Tongren Polytechnic College, Guizhou, China, divided equally into experimental and control groups. The experimental group followed the PjBBL model. The control group used blended learning (BL) methods. The learning activity lasted 8 weeks, pre-tests and post-tests were administered using a 5-point Likert scale for digital marketing competencies and team spirit. MANOVA analysis (level 0.05) showed a significant difference in digital marketing competencies and team spirit between PjBBL and BL. The results revealed that while both groups showed improvement, the experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in both areas, indicating the effectiveness of the PjBBL model. This study provides valuable insights into improving vocational education through innovative teaching approaches.

    This research aimed to conduct a comprehensive needs analysis to gauge the needs of both students and educators concerning Project-Based Learning (PBL) in the context of a Cloud Education Model for Word Software Courses. The primary objectives encompassed the assessment of students' receptiveness towards PBL adoption and the evaluation of instructors' levels of enthusiasm for embracing the PBL instructional model. The study emphasized establishing a synergistic understanding between educators and learners regarding the seamless integration of PBL within the Cloud Education framework. Significantly, the research sought to innovatively develop and put together PBL within the Cloud Education milieu, discerning disparities in software proficiency and computational thinking between students exposed to PBL through Cloud Education and their counterparts experiencing traditional instructional methodologies.

    Applying Blended Learning Model in Piano Lessons: A Multi-Dimensional Study of its Impact on Students' Self-Cognition, Engagement and Emotional Support

    This research aims to illuminate the multifaceted effects of blended learning on students' piano education, focusing on factors such as readiness, engagement, and emotional support. It investigates how the implementation of blended learning models can enhance students' outcomes in piano instruction through a flexible, autonomous, and supportive learning environment. Utilising a systematic literature review approach, this study analysed the multi-dimensional effects of blended learning on students' self-cognition, engagement, and emotional support. The TCCM (Theory, Context, Characteristics, and Methods) framework guided a comprehensive analysis of 45 peer-reviewed articles published between 2022 and 2024. A broad search across several academic databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), yielded 112 articles. After screening through two phases—title and abstract review, followed by a full-text review—45 articles were selected for detailed analysis. The review reveals that blended learning significantly enhances student readiness and engagement in piano education. Specifically, student engagement would mediate the relationship between readiness and learning outcomes, while self-cognition and emotional support could play critical moderating roles. Insights from Cognitive Load Theory and Self-Regulated Learning Theory emphasise the importance of managing cognitive load through the integration of online resources, feedback mechanisms, and practice tracking. The balance between digital and face-to-face interactions is crucial in fostering student engagement and readiness. This study contributes to the growing body of research on blended learning in music education, offering both theoretical and practical insights into optimising blended learning for piano instruction. While gaps in the literature remain, they present opportunities for further research into the interplay of cognitive-emotional and practical dimensions of blended learning across different cultural and instrumental contexts. Consequently, instructors and researchers can continue to refine the blended learning experience for piano students and beyond.

    Flipped Classroom with Virtual Reality Technology Learning Model for Chinese College Students in Psychological Education: A Need Assessment Study
    The growing prevalence of psychological health problems, particularly depression and anxiety, among Chinese college students necessitate innovative approaches to psychological education. This research investigates the psychological education needs of college students and proposes a flipped classroom model integrated with virtual reality (VR) technology to address these needs. A needs assessment survey, employing a 16-item questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, was conducted to collect data from 400 students selected by stratigied eamdom sampling method from 125 higher education institutions in Anhui Province. The survey explored student perspectives on textbook content, learning outcomes learning methods and technologies. Subsequently, a flipped classroom model incorporating VR technology was developed based on a review of existing literature. This model was then evaluated by a panel of five experts across dimensions of suitability, model components, and learning activities. Quantitative data from the student needs assessment and the expert evaluation were analysed using descriptive statistics. Results from the needs assessment indicated a strong consensus among students (mean scores 4.12-4.77) regarding the importance of psychological education, with 15 of 16 items receiving "strongly agree" ratings. The proposed flipped classroom model, comprising before-class, in-class, after-class and evaluation components, received high ratings from the expert panel (mean scores 4.6-5.0) across all evaluation dimensions. The experts "strongly agree" with the model's suitability and potential effectiveness. This study offers an innovative pedagogical framework for psychological health education in higher education, leveraging VR technology within a flipped classroom design to support students in managing anxiety and depression.

    Student needs assessment analysis in e-commerce courses of vocational colleges in Guizhou Province China

    This study aimed to identify the specific needs of students in e-commerce courses in vocational colleges, focusing on digital marketing competencies, team spirit, learning methods, and course content to support curriculum development and the construction of innovative teaching models. The researcher of this study conducted a needs assessment survey with a sample size of 400 current vocational students. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the means of 12 items. The results showed that the mean value of items ranged from 3.44 to 4.29, and all items reached at least the need level. Furthermore, respondents perceived a strong need to enhance digital marketing competencies and adopt new learning methods in e-commerce courses. Respondents also showed a need to integrate project-based learning and blended learning compared to other learning methods. A comprehensive student needs assessment analysis towards e-commerce courses has been provided in this study; it could serve as basic information for educators to develop a better teaching model and curriculum in the field of e-commerce education in vocational colleges.

    A blended learning model for learning achievement enhancement of thai undergraduate students

    Research was undertaken to develop a blended learning model which contained three objectives. They were to 1) study student and teacher input for a blended learning model using a Thai university undergraduate course in information, innovation, and technology in education for the learning management conditions and improvement methods; 2) to research how to effectively improve the blended learning model and instructional media in accordance with the 80/80 criteria and 3) compare learning achievements and information literacy between student groups using the blended learning method and traditional learning method with information literacy as the covariate. The research was divided into three phases consisting of the development of the conceptual framework, a second phase which studied the blended learning model using both e-learning and face-toface methods with a 60/40 ratio. When applying a technology system to learning management utilizing instructional media, it was determined to be 81.53/80.11. Phase 3 found that blended learning affected learning and information literacy by at least 1 variate which had a different mean score from traditional learning with a statistical significance at the 0.05 level. The findings showed that the Thai university undergraduate students were satisfied with the blended learning model which was due to the change in the learning system as well as being tasked with interesting and challenging computer based lessons outside class. This was later enforced through teacher delivered lesson summaries during formal class time. Students understood the content better, enjoyed the self-directed learning and doing things independently.

    Objective: 1) To develop a project-based blended teaching model in the painting course; 2) To study the effect of the project-based blended learning on students’ painting skills and learning attitude towards painting courses. Mehtod: This research is divided into two phases. The first phase determines the teaching model of project-based blended learning. In this phase, there are two steps. The first step is to build a project-based blended teaching model; the second step is to invite 5 Experts evaluate the modified model and modify the model based on expert opinions. The second stage is to analyze the impact of the PjBBL teaching model on students’ painting skills and learning attitudes. The main research purpose of this stage is to conduct experiments to study the impact of the model on students’ painting skills and learning attitudes. It mainly includes experimental design, experimental participation three aspects: authors and data analysis methods. Result: Through data analysis, it was found that the painting skills and learning attitude of the students in the experimental group were higher than those of the students in the control group. Conclusion: This shows that the PjBBL model can improve students’ painting skills and learning attitude when used in painting courses.

    Examining vocational college student learning needs toward entrepreneurship courses in Southwestern China

    The present research aimed to study the student learning needs assessments of entrepreneurship courses in vocational colleges of southwestern China to identify students' learning needs based on the perspectives of creativity, openness to experience, project-based blended learning, design thinking, and entrepreneurship courses. The researcher employed a multi-stage sampling method to select a sample size of 400 current vocational students from four regions in southwestern China to participate in this research. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the means of 15 items. The results showed that the mean values of the items ranged from 3.66 to 4.28, and all items reached at least the need level. Furthermore, respondents strongly agreed on the importance of enhancing openness to experiences and creativity in entrepreneurship courses. Meanwhile, the respondents also indicated the need for project-based blended learning and design thinking as the learning methods to be used in the teaching practices of entrepreneurship. The results of this study are expected to benefit educators in the process of developing new teaching methods and curricula in the field of entrepreneurship education.
