    (2021-01-01)
    Suwankarjank, Veerapol
    ;
    With the result of creative solutions to design thinking, this makes design thinking becomes the most popular problem solving process. While everyone mentions on success in the outcome of design thinking, no one talks about the mistakes and misunderstandings arising during the implementation of design thinking. Especially for Thai design students, errors often affect to the reduction of efficiency in finding solutions. The purpose of this paper is to study the errors in the use of the design thinking and the differences in the process of the use of the design thinking by Thai students through collecting data from the test. This is also to understand feeling while applying design thinking from interviews from the analysis of the data obtained with the basic cultural influence and Thai educational system. It was revealed that errors occurred in 3 stages of design thinking that conflicts with the main objectives as follows: 1. Empathize - Thai students are reluctant to go out and face problems in real situations and accept the information without questioning and without asking questions 2. Define - hesitation and uncertainty in making decisions on identifying problems and 3. Ideate - uncomfortable feeling and refusing to work with others. From the summary of the errors found, the results of the study are: Presentation of design thinking suitable for Thai students. This is a model that focuses on encouraging correct practice in each stage to reduce errors and increase the potential for design thinking.

    Zhang, Yifan
    ;
    The Dai ethnic group is an important ethnic minority in southern China, and its unique cultural traditions and architectural features are of great significance for the inheritance and protection of local culture. Under the influence of new urbanism and architectural ecology, contemporary architectural space design has also emerged a new way of development. After consulting a large number of relevant documents and materials, it was found that many researchers provided new ideas for the research of architectural space design, and this paper was adding its own understanding and taking this as the direction and basis. In the introduction, the significance of the research on the experiential style of place spirit was introduced, and then the academic research and analysis were carried out on the two key sentences of architectural design and experiential architectural space design; the method part put forward the constructive algorithm theory, and proposed the algorithm to provide the theoretical basis for the architectural space design based on the spiritual experience of the place; at the end of the paper, a simulation comparison experiment was carried out and the experiment was summarized and discussed; by selecting City A, based on the experimental results, the satisfaction rate before use was 16%, and the satisfaction rate after use was 58%, with a difference of 42%. Therefore, it could be seen that the architectural space design based on the spirit experience of the place studied in this paper was more popular with the citizens of the city. At the same time, with the continuous progress of society and people’s thinking, the research on the architectural space design of place spiritual experience was also facing new opportunities and challenges.

    Thai temple area: Facilities assessment for emergency shelter use
    (2023-01-01)
    Limsaksri, Doungjai
    ;
    An emergency shelter is a place where people live temporarily in case of an emergency. In Thailand, the emergency shelter usually is constructed by amending the temple area or using the temple area itself. Since the purpose of the temple is to be a place for religious activities, the amount of the area may not fit for being an emergency shelter. The purpose of this research are to evaluate the adequacy of the residential area and the supporting rate for the number of people in the community. For the research method, this research uses the temple area surveying in the case study temple. The result found that using the temple area as the emergency shelter is not sufficient when compared to the population in the surrounding communities. In conclusion, using the temple area as an emergency shelter is a policy based on the fact that the temple is a convenient and accessible public space located very close to the community. Normally, these temples are used for religious rituals and monks' activities, so the physique of the building is mainly to support those types of activities. But when the temple needs to be modified into an emergency shelter, the amount of space are not sufficient to support the people from the communities around the temple and making it more difficult for the victims to live.
