Item type:Publication, A simple CMOS-based algorithmic ADC(2007-12-01) ;Kaewpoonsuk, Anucha; ; This paper presents a one-bit cell of reverse Gray-code algorithmic analog-to-digital converter. The proposed converter comprises of full-wave rectifier, current mirrors, and current comparator. The realization method is simple, small in size, and suitable for integrated circuit form. The design strategy is based on the MOS biased at the edge of conduction to provide a low accumulated error and a low distortion in the transfer characteristic. An N-bit resolution can be achieved by cascading of the N proposed one-bit cells. PSPICE simulation results supporting the characteristics of proposed circuit are agreed with the expected values. © ICROS. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, OTA-based capacitance-to-period converter for capacitive sensors(2013-03-28) ;Kanjanapart, Naratorn; ; A simple design technique for realization of a capacitance-to-period converter based on operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) is presented in this paper. The proposed principle utilizes the behavior of astable multivibrator. The configuration of converter is implemented using commercial available and low cost devices. The obtained time period is proportional to sensing capacitance. The conversion gain of proposed scheme can be changed by electronic means. Circuit performances verified by experimental results are agreed with the expected values. © 2013 ICIC International. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, System development for tube inspection based on eddy current technique(2012-01-01); ; Kaewpoonsuk, AnuchaThis paper presents system development for tube inspection based on eddy current. The proposed system consists of sine wave generator circuit, amplifier circuit I, voltage control current source, filter circuit, detector circuit I, detector circuit II, amplifier circuit II, comparator circuit, display circuit and eddy current probe. The system is based on eddy current inspection technique. The eddy current between eddy current probe and metal tube was measured by the proposed circuit. The measured output voltage is applied to the signal processing circuit for display unit. When the investigated metal tube has no defect, green LED is turn on, otherwise the red LED with buzzer is turn on. © 2012 SICE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, 4-20mA current transceiver(2010-12-01) ;Chaipurimas, Komsan; ; A method for realization of current transceiver is proposed in this paper. The proposed current transceiver can simultaneously transmit and receive the industrial standard current signal 4-20mA. Only one transmission loop or one pair of wire is required for current signal transmission and receive between two stations. The input and output signals are in the voltage form that is suitable and convenient for industrial applications. Realization of the proposed transceiver is based on the use of voltage-to-current converter to transmit and receive a current signal. Simulation results demonstrating the performance of the proposed scheme are agreed with the expected values. The leakage signal between input and output of transceiver in term of crosstalk is about -66.8dB. ©ICROS. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, High performance periodical paths tracking of two-dimensional handheld micromanipulator using explicit model predictive control(2017-02-18) ;Boksuwan, Sungwan; ;Chesof, Abdulhafiz ;Kanamori, ChisatoPanaudomsup, SumitThe paper proposes an explicit model predictive control framework for a two-dimensional handheld micromanipulator to track periodical reference paths within microscopic working range and for all holding angles of users' hand. The control objective is to achieve a minimum tracking error and a wide bandwidth. The micromanipulator's design is oriented to such bio cell treatments. Its structure consists of two flexible decoupling links, each of which is driven by the combination of electric coils and permanent magnets as an actuator. In the experiments, the proposed framework is compared with two types of PID controllers, parameters of which are designed by Skogestand's IMC and IMC method based on the underdamped transfer function, respectively. The experimental results exhibit the effectiveness of the two-dimensional handheld micromanipulator controlled by the model predictive control framework over the PID controller ones. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, OTA-based electronically variable floating inductance simulator(2011-12-01) ;Longsomboon, Kittisak; ; A circuit technique to implement a floating inductance simulator using operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) is introduced in this paper. The realization method based on the commercially available OTA, one resistor and one capacitor provides the advantage of an electronic adjusting capability. The resulting inductance can be electronically varied by tuning the external bias current of OTA. The obtained simulator is also applied in system response compensation. Experimental results verifying the circuit performances are included. © 2011 ICROS.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Evaluation of explicit model predictive temperature control for on-off air conditioner(2017-12-13) ;Chesof, Abdulhafiz ;Boksuwan, Sungwan ;Panaudomsup, SumitThe objective is to evaluate the performance of an explicit model predictive control for controlling the room temperature actuated by the on-off air conditioner to minimize the energy usage by reducing the working time of a compressor. There are a lot of on-off air conditioners already installed in the educational building in Thailand. To replace all of those by the inverter air conditioner or HVAC system, the high investment cost is required. Therefore, the on-off air conditioners continue to work in such building. The effective solution may be the low cost control unit which is simple like a remote control. The method is to design the remote control embedded by the temperature sensor and the explicit model predictive control that is based on the off-line optimization. The experiment is performed in the laboratory room with dimension 4×7×3.5 m (WxLxH) actuated by Saijo Denki 18,320 Btu on-off air conditioner. The experimental results reveal that the temperature reaches the desired value 25 degree Celsius within 10 minute and keeps fluctuating between 23 and 26 degree Celsius. The working time of compressor is reduced 33.33 %. The result shows that the explicit model predictive control is effective for the remote control application in terms of the implementation and energy saving.1
