Item type:Publication, Indoor positioning based on IEEE 802.15.4a standard using trilateration technique and UWB signal(2012-11-12) ;Sangthong, Jirapat ;Dokpikul, PrakaidaoNowadays, precision and accurate positioning in an indoor environment could pro- vide widely researched because of its variety services. There have been many position estimation techniques that can be proposed such as geometric technique, statistical technique, mapping technique and many others. Trilateration technique is the one technique of geometric technique. This technique can be estimate the target position by using the intersection of circle that can be obtained from a set of reference positions. For low-rate communication, the IEEE 802.15.4a standard is proposed. This paper studies on indoor positioning based on IEEE 802.15.4a standard in IR-UWB option. All of measurements using vector network analyzer (VNA) to measure the channel frequency transfer functions. The biconical antennas were used as both transmitter (Tx) antenna and receiver (Rx) antenna with vertical polarization. Trilateration technique will be use to estimate position related parameter RSS and TOA. From the results, TOA has the higher accuracy than RSS both low band and high band cases. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The rectangular passband, modulated rectangular and modulated Gaussian waveforms, which is satisfied the UWB signal definition and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indoor and outdoor limit spectral masks, are used as the transmitted UWB signal. The complex form of Friis' transmission formula is considered as the UWB free space channel. Therefore, the distortion effects caused from the channel are included. The same principle as that used in long-range radio communication links. The reader's antenna generates a propagating radio wave use far-field communication, which is received by the antenna in the tag. This paper, the microstrip patch antennas used both for transmitter antenna and receiver antenna likewise the reader antenna and tag antenna, simple patch antenna of this type radiates a linearly polarized wave. We investigated the transmission loss the RFID short range systems. Item type:Publication, Characterization of Wireless Power Transfer Measurement at 2.45 GHz(2018-07-02); Wireless sensor network has been developing rapidly. Internet of Things (IoT) is a major role for the next generation of wireless communication system. However, the power consumption and lifetime of the battery are a limitation for the IoT device. Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is a promising technology to solve the problem due to it can be the ubiquitous power source for the IoT devices by provide the energy via the propagation of radiowaves. The 2.45 GHz ISM is a popular frequency bandwidth which widely used in WiFi application which make it easy to use. The performance of the propagation can evaluate by various parameter. Receive power is use to analyze the efficiency of the radio frequency transmission. Therefore, this paper has been evaluated the WPT measurement data with difference separate distance between antennas at 2.45 GHz. By using the meander line antenna as the transmit antenna and receive antenna. Vector network analyzer (VNA) is used to measure and record the transfer function. The receive power which analyze the measurement data by using link budget equation. The results have shown good agreement between the simulation and measurement result which have the average of measurement result less than the simulation result around 2 dB. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of UWB fingerprinting with vertical and horizontal polarizations for indoor localization(2010-07-30) ;Sangthong, Jirapat; The indoor localization system has been extensively researched because of its various applications. This system requires high accuracy in indoor environments which absence line of sight and dense multipath. Ultra wideband (UWB) fingerprinting is developed for this purpose. This paper discuss about indoor localization using a fingerprinting concept based on UWB signal and compares between vertical and horizontal polarization cases. All of the measurements used biconical antennas as both transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) antennas. The channel frequency transfer functions of corridor environment were measured at frequencies ranging from 3 GHz to 11 GHz. The path loss and delay time of first three-path is investigated to perform the fingerprints and signatures. The accuracy of estimated distances is shown in terms of cumulative distribution function (CDF). The popular use of localization system is the global position system (GPS). However, the system fails in particular environments such as indoors because low received signal power. It is not appropriate to take a position. The indoor localization system was used to assist in finding a position in an indoor environment. There are several techniques used to evaluate. Technique trilateration model is a technique of geometric. This technique leverages circular intersections to estimate target positions. The circles are derived from a set of reference positions. This paper studies on indoor positioning in line of sight (LOS) using by IEEE 802.15.4 standard in ultra wideband option which this study employs trilateration to estimate the position of target objects. Biconical antennas with vertical polarization serve as both transmitting and receiving elements. The evaluation is conducted using a vector network analyzer (VNA) across a frequency range of 3GHz to 11GHz. Item type:Publication, Simple waveforms satisfying MIC spectral mask for UWB communications(2006-12-01) ;Wansiang, Kritsana; ; Takada, Jun IchiIn this paper, the simple waveforms for ultra wideband (UWB) communications are presented to satisfy the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) spectral mask. The rectangular passband, modulated rectangular and modulated Gaussian waveforms are considered. They are optimized to maximized bandwidth, amplitude and average power in the MIC spectral mask bandwidth ranging from 3.4 to 4.8 GHz for low passband and 7.25 to 10.25 GHz for high passband. The maximum average power spectral density (PSD) limit of MIC spectral mask is considered. The binary pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) with balance binary data independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) random sequence is considered to easily derive the PSD of the waveforms. However, the route discovery process of the location-Aided routing (LAR) is ineffective in void zone environments where data packets cannot reach their intended destination. To address this issue, this paper presents a new approach called Location-Aided base on trajectory that eliminates the void zone. The results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing approaches in terms of reachability, making it a more robust alternative to the default location-Aided routing protocol. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

However, it is not directly applicable to ultra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) transmission systems. This paper presents the link budget evaluation formula for UWB-IR systems that takes into account the transmission signal waveform, its distortion due to the antenna, and the receiver. This study is based on ground reflection model. The waveform polarizations and ground characteristics are considered. The passband rectangular pulse with specific center frequency and bandwidth is used for transmitted signal. Complex form of Friis' transmission formula is applied for the UWB ground reflection channel. The rms delay spread is evaluated by received signal. The effects of waveform polarizations and ground characteristics on the ground reflection channel are discussed in the paper. © 2005 IEEE.
