Item type:Publication, Conductivity analysis of lubricant in terms of deterioration by using a hall effect sensor(2019-11-01); ;Prommapit, Sombat ;Khwankityotha, YannadechSriratana, LerdlekhaThis paper investigates the efficiency of lubricant analysis by using electrical conductor theory that applied to check the performance of the lubricant, it will be indicate a life cycle of lubricant. The measurement process has led Electrochemical cell, Induction coil and Hall Effect sensor for electrochemical field analysis and compare it with electrical conductivity. In conductivity measurement experiment, we consider dynamic measurement velocity at 80 RPM with a lubricant Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 type by 5 different life cycle samples ratio, Used lubricant: Unused lubricant are 100% (4: 0), 75% (3:1), 50% (2:2), 25% (1:3) and 0% (0:4). The voltage output of Hall Effect sensor of 100% sample measurement at 100 degree Celsius is higher than the voltage output of 75%, 50%, 25% and 0% sample are 7.04%, 12.21%, 21.25% and 28.65%, respectively. The average percentage of Hall Effect sensor errors with the dynamic measurement method of the 5 lubricant samples was 2.87. Even though this measurement method had a high percentage of errors, but it has a cost advantage over the current measuring devices such as the Viscometer which is expensive cost. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Application of the OpenCV-python for personal identifier statement(2018-08-13); ;Mukma, Suppakorn; Sirisantisamrid, KasetWork attendance is one of the processes that either large or small companies need to be involved with. To reduce the time-consuming and improve the reliability of such process, this work proposes an alternative solution by applying the combinations of image processing and Viola Jones algorithm on the facial-employee database. The facial detection and recognition system shows the high accuracy over 90%. The proposed process not only improves the efficiency of the work attendance in term of data-collecting and data-analyzing but also possibly prevents the cheating of appearance compared to the old-fashion processes e.g. signing-paper or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Application of webcam for inspection of rice grain quality by using image processing technique(2020-10-13); ;Narknam, Namo ;Apichitanon, RuangsitThis paper presents the image processing system for quality inspection of rice grains after sorting process by using an ordinary webcam to ensure that rice grains should meet the quality standards and impurity such as grits, dirt and stones should not be found [1]. Moreover, statistical information of rice grains from image processing could be taken into analysis to enhance the efficiency of the sorting process. Image data analysis of rice grains can be divided into 2 main arrangement conditions, non-overlapping and overlapping. In this study, the experiments to inspect rice grains were applied for 24 samples and 18 experimental designs including the complete and incomplete structures, the overlapping and non-overlapping arrangements, and the combination of rice grains from complete and incomplete structures in equal and unequal ratios. From experiments, it was found that the inspection of rice grain quality by using image processing technique and image data recorded by an ordinary webcam was reliable and efficient. The inspection errors under non-overlapping arrangement condition of complete and incomplete structures of rice grains were not observed. The inspection errors of rice grains combined from complete and incomplete structures in equal and unequal ratios were about 0.8% and 1.11%, respectively. However, under overlapping arrangement condition, it was observed that the inspection errors of image processing would be high by up to 53.82% on average. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of capacitive variation using parallel-plates method(2009-12-01) ;Tanachaikhan, LerdlekhaCapacitive variation of capacitive sensor was analyzed by using two parallel plates coated by 0.4 mm- thick nylon and fixed together by resin to maintain the distance of those two plates at 2.5 mm and 5 mm. In this study, stainless and copper were used for development of capacitive sensor. In this paper Ethel alcohol solution is used as a case study. Ethel alcohol solution with the concentration ranging from 95% to 5% with 10% step decrease of concentration diluted by distilled water was experimented under the controlled temperature of 23°C and the frequency was varied from 100 Hz to 2 kHz with 500 Hz interval. The capacitive variation analyzed from the equivalent circuit which was obtained from the developed sensor was then compared to the electrical circuit obtained from the Good Will R-L-C instrument model CRT to analyze for the appropriate material and the distance between two parallel plates (d) of the sensor. This proposed methodology was developed with consideration of the simple design for easy fabrication and low costs with high accuracy and reliability of the results. ©2009 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An experimental study of natural lighting for energy conservation using top-up control method(2008-12-01) ;Wangkadilok, Chaichana; ; Tanachaikhan, LerdlekhaThis paper presents the experiment-based analysis of interior illuminance from natural lighting through clear glazed window of a reference room located in Bangkok, Thailand, during February to May 2007 as a case study. The point illuminances measured by photoconductive sensors were collected every 5 minutes and the average interior illuminance from natural lighting were then calculated instantaneously. In this study, natural lighting also aims to reduce the requirement of electric lighting during daytime (7 am-5 pm) of the reference room. If natural lighting alone cannot supply the light at the required value, the electric lighting is assumed to be switched on under top-up control method to maintain the standard illuminance level. The average interior illuminance, which comprises of natural light and electric light, is controlled to be stable at the IES standard level of 500 lux. Nine sets of high performance lamp, 56 lm/W of efficacy, are assumed to supply the light to meet the standard condition. The requirements of supplementary lighting and possible savings during the test months are finally estimated. © 2008 SICE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design of capacitive sensor for concentration measurement(2006-12-01) ;Thong-un, Natee; Tanachaikhan, LerdlekhaThis paper presents the analysis of ideal equivalent circuit of the developed concentration sensor probe for chemical solutions by regarding to reasonable costs and reliability of device. The designed sensor probe consists of 2 parallel electrode plates that are coated by Nylon with 0.4 mm thick and mounted together by Resin with 2.5 mm of gap (0.09 times greater than electrode width). Any capacity changes will be compared with the electric circuit that is obtained from the Good Will R-L-C standard instrument, model CTR, at the frequency extending from 100Hz to 2 kHz. From the experiments, it was found that the sensor designed for Ethyl Alcohol solution within concentration of 5% to 95% and 10% concentration interval, at room temperature of 23°C and frequency of 100 Hz, can provide the results with high linearity as well as high resolution of capacity change which is 2 pF per 1% of concentration. © 2006 ICASE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Development of a Capacitive Sensing Module to Detect the Concentration of Isopropyl Alcohol for Covid-19 Disinfection Using Small Capacitance to DC Converter(2024-01-01); ;Faijaree, Manasnit ;Sriratana, LerdlekhaThis paper presents the development of a sensing module for analyzing the concentration of disinfectant alcohol commercially available in Thailand during the Covid-19 epidemic situation to ensure the ingredients and percentage concentration by focusing on simplicity, low cost with reliable performance. Under the basic physical structure of the capacitance change [1]-[5], it consists of a New Sensor Module developed to fully interface with the small capacitance to DC converter for capacitive sensor [2] model. Inside the sensing structure, there were 2 modules of metal conductors. Each conductor was 3 mm. thick, placed in parallel with a fixed distance between the module of 1 mm. The cross-sectional areas of the plates of those two modules were different in order to compare the efficiency of the detector developed. The cross-sectional areas of the plates of Module A and B were 4 cm2 and 1 cm2, respectively. Experiments were performed with 3 concentrations of alcohol, 65%, 70% and 75%, to enhance the concentration detecting performance of the sensing module developed. The signal conditioning was generated from a small capacitance to DC converter for capacitive detection with a frequency of 100 kHz, which was the most suitable frequency for exciting the capacitance change which was the capacitive reactance of the alcohol used in this study. From experiments, it was found that the sensing module with a small cross-sectional conductive material would provide more accurate results in terms of linearity and repeatability. The errors were less than 2.72% compared to the module with a large cross-sectional conductor material which would have an error up to 4.73%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Test of oil lubricant viscosity by using hall effect sensor(2018-08-13); ;Nakklinkoon, SethawutThis paper presents the test of oil lubricant. The viscosity of lubricant would decrease and the replacement of lubricant is required when the lubricant is used for a period of time. Hence, viscosity is a major factor that can indicate the quality of the lubricant. The fundamental method known as falling ball viscometer that is basically from Archimedes' principle including Newton's laws of motion were applied for the test. The sphere shaped object was replaced by a standard disc with the drill holes. The experiment was conducted by four new lubricant samples: SAE10W-30, SAE15W-40, SAE20W-50 and SAE90. From the reference position, the standard disc was released to the lubricant container and a timer was counted simultaneously by the microcontroller. The timer was stopped when Hall Effect sensor detected the disc at the bottom of the container. Falling time was compared to the viscosity from the standard rotational Viscometer, namely Brookfield Viscometer model DV-II+Pro to assess the relationship equation between falling time and viscosity. From study, the average error of falling time measurement was 0.109 Sec or 2.106% and the average viscosity error from the equation was 6.171 cP or 3.089% at room temperature (27°C). In addition, comparing to the standard Viscometer, the average percentage error was about 2.113%. Even though the accuracy of this method would not be outstanding, it is efficient with cost advantage compared to the expensive standard Viscometer. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of Eggs Quality by Using the NIR(2023-12-14); ;Iamyang, WongwitSriratana, LerdlekhaIn this study, fresh chicken eggs that had hatched between 11 to 22 days prior were used to examine and devise a method for assessing chicken egg quality [1][9]. The samples were separated into three sizes: medium, large, and extra-large, and stored in an environment with controlled temperature and humidity. The eggs were then exposed to near-infrared spectra projected onto them by a spectrometer in the wavelength range of 610 to 880 nm [2][4][6]. The water molecules within the eggs absorb near-infrared thermal radiation. The unabsorbed portion of the thermal energy or near-infrared spectrum reflects some of the spectrometer's light and generates the spectrum's output in terms of radiation intensity. The Haugh unit and yolk index [1] were then utilized to compare the mean values [3]. This study determined, that chicken eggs aged 11 to 22 days had radiation intensities between 16.43 and 48.19, yolk indices between 0.1994 and 0.2601, and Haugh unit values between 54.7345 and 67.2087. The analysis of the data revealed that elder eggs had a greater effect on egg quality. Each of the three variables (radiation intensity reflected, Haugh units, and egg yolk index) there was a direct correlation with egg quality.
