    This paper presents a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) that cooperated the holonic manufacturing system (HMS) with automatic material handling devices via industrial networks. The HMS is described as an intelligent manufacturing system that employs multi-agent system with negotiation protocols. The traditional HMS's negotiation protocol usually used the contract net protocol (CPN) and multi-level contract net protocol (MCPN). This paper develops a cooperative system that applies the concept of HMS to implement a distributed control system for automatic warehouse and FMS. Results from simulation indicated that our approach is able to improve the overall system flexibility. The system is able to reconfigure the re-order points, increase the system fault tolerances, and provides the dynamic rescheduling.

    The design of robust PID control for fan and plate process
    (2007-12-01) ;
    Tipsuwanporn, Vittaya
    This paper presents the method to achieve the characteristic equation of the Fan and Plate process by using Integral Step Response (ISR) and the controller of this plant is PID controller that designed by Root Locus Method. Since the fan and plate process is highly nonlinear model, it is interested to study the controller design. The plate angular position is actuated by the wind from the fan which is controlled by a DC-Motor. The angular position can be measured by a potentiometer which employed electrical signal via voltage divider circuit in order to be the feed back signal to the control loop. The characteristic equation and the parameter of controller can be obtained by MATLAB program.

    This paper presents the conservation of electrical energy in building with the technique to develop load control and management system in order to adjust load factor of system. Using the limiting and controlling the maximum demand, we can acquire the prediction and compare it to the maximum demand set point. This system consist computer which works as controller, processor and database unit and works with digital power meter inform of multidrop network by serial communication via RS-485. The control system use PLC to control load via serial communication RS-485. The data of measurement such as voltage, current, power, power factor, energy, etc., can be saved as database and analysis. The load factor adjustment by limiting and controlling maximum demand can reduce the cost of electric consumption and energy generation.

    The 4 - quadrant dc motor drive control, considered the technique of BRM is proposed on the expectation of fast response. Power and torque control are imposed on both no load and loaded condition. The outcome response time is less than 2.5 seconds, when the resolution of input energy supply is 255 waveforms with scan time of 0.667 milliseconds. The ripple is less than 1%.The control condition of 4-quadrant are operated in quadrant I and IV for forward and reverse rotation and quadrant II and III are for sudden braking by regenerative, resulted in giving reversing time less than 3.5 seconds.

    This paper presents implement in speed control of a separately excited DC motor using fuzzy logic control (FLC) based on Lab VIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) program. Lab VIEW, is a graphical programming environment suited for high-level or system-level design. Therefore, the principle that are data flow model, different from text-base programming and a sequential model. The user-friendly interface and toolbox design are shown the high level of suitableness and stability of Lab VIEW and fuzzy logic on speed control of DC motor. The fuzzy logic controller designed to applies the required control voltage that sent to dc motor based on fuzzy rule base of motor speed error ( e ) and change of speed error (ce). The results show the control as a FLC that do the comparison with PI and PIP Controller. © 2006 ICASE.

    This paper presents a model of Traffic Forecasting and Navigation Assistance System via Web Application which provides guidance information to drivers for the efficient route planning. Traffic Forecasting and Navigation Assistance System (TFNAS) consists of survey car with GPS module which has rolls of reading traffic information and sending the information to TFNAS Center via internet. TFNAS Center is the center of GPS database and traffic information processing system. It collects GPS information real-time, calculates the traffic density and sends the guidance information of the most effective route which has a least time of arrival to Front-end Devices, Smart Phone PDA Laptop, via Web Brower. © ICROS.

    This paper presents a research and development of 2-axis actuators which are controlled by using AutoCAD graphic and text database in text file being standard of ASCII Drawing Interchange File (DXF). The graphic data have a position data that can control actuators instantaneously. In text data, contour text technique is improved to get the text data having the position which can apply to control the actuators by applying function of AutoCAD. The database is analyzed for optimizing the path to reduce the time of movement, saving energy in order to reduce budget in manufacturing. Dual modulus pre-scaling is used to translate analyzed data for controlling 2-axis actuators to move as any number of prototype such as circle, square and text accurately.

    Smith Predictor control is theoretically a good solution to the problem of controlling the time delay systems. However, it seldom gets use because it is almost impossible to find out a precise mathematical model of the practical system and very sensitive to uncertain system with variable time-delay. In this paper is concerned, with a design method, of smith predictor for temperature control system by Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). The simulation results show that the control system with smith predictor design by CDM is stable and robust whilst giving the desired time domain system performance. © ICROS.
