Item type:Publication, Biometrics based on facial landmark with application in person identification(2019-01-01) ;Juhong, Aniwat; ; Pitavirooj, ChuchartThis paper presents a novel technique for face recognition based on facial landmarks extracted automatically. Our landmarks are those associated with eyes mouth and nose. To extract facial landmarks, we first use Haar cascade algorithm to detect the face ROI following by Haar cascade algorithm for the eye, mouth and nose ROI determination. To find landmark associated with the eye, we convert eye ROI image to binary image using thresholding algorithm. To exclude the eyebrow region, we apply horizontal radon transform. The project data will then be used to separate the eyebrow region from the eye region. To detect eye-related landmark, vertical radon transform is applied. With the vertical projection data, the outermost pixel can be identified and the associated eye landmark can be determined. The similar technique can then be used to identify landmarks associated with the nose and mouth area. Given the correspond landmarks on the reference face and the query face, geometric transformation can be determined using normal equation bases on minimized mean squared error. The two faces are then aligned. To provide the quantitative measurement, the two aligned face are converted to edge image using canny edge algorithm. The distance map error between the two aligned edge facial images is then used to identify the query face. The purposed algorithm for person identification was tested on the face database resulting in a very high accuracy. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Design of linear phase filter by using q-Bernstein polynomial(2018-01-01); ;Kanjanasurat, Isoon; ;Janchitrapongvej, KanokArchevapanich, TuanjaiThe aim of this paper presents a design of IIR filter by using q-Bernstein polynomial. There are two parameters for adjusting a characteristic of frequency response. Stopband and slope of phase are adjusted by varying parameter ɛ. The advantage is a linear phase and maximally flat more than Butterworth and Chebyshev. The stability can guarantee with Mihailov’s criterion. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Dynamic set point feedback control using steady state detection(2016-01-24) ;Thongkrairat, Somsin; There are various of feedback control model such as PID, Fuzzy control. The purpose of feedback control model is to find best way to process output or feedback signal to be the input signal for control the system according to set point or input demand. Normally the set point has been given from outside of system or be fixed to constant it means there are other subsystem assign set point. The paper is research about how to change the set point using only feedback value for convenient purpose. We research about processing of feedback value to know when the system wants to change the set point. We designed algorithm to analyse feedback value about steady state for decide changing set point and implement this method in the real hardware by PID speed control using encoder and microcontroller for run our algorithm. At last we record statistic from microcontroller and analyses the result. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Rectangular slot antenna with Asymmetrical conductor strip for bandwidth enhancement coverage UWB standard(2014-01-01) ;Archevapanich, Tuanjai ;Rakluea, Paitoon ;Anantrasirichai, Noppin; This paper presents the bandwidth enhancement of rectangular slot antenna fed by microstrip line on the flexible Mylar Polyester film substrate. Asymmetrical conductor strip is designed and inserted in the rectangular slot to extend the bandwidth from 3.06 GHz to 7.2 GHz frequency range. Besides, the rectangular conductor at the end of the feeding microstrip line is introduced for increasing the bandwidth at high frequency up to 12.32 GHz. This improved antenna to cover standard frequency range of UWB (3.1 GHz – 10.6 GHz). Finally, as to reject the frequency band of IEEE 802.11a (5.15 GHz – 5.35 GHz), the line strip at the side of tuning stub is added. In this case, the band-notched frequency from 5.15GHz to 5.38 GHz can be easily obtained. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Internet based crossover robot remote control competition among Asian countries - Development of practice based innovative education methodology, Phase V(2012-10-23) ;Xu, C. ;Ming, A. ;Kanamori, C. ;Aoyama, H.Li, H.We introduce 2011's progress and achievements of an internet based crossover robot remote control competition between Japan and China, Thailand, and Taiwan respectively. The competition project has two subjects: the competition itself and the student-student communication and cooperation. The basic competition mode is a remotely controlled robot via the internet cooperates with a locally controlled robot to finish a specified task and, as a unique feature of the project, the studentstudent communication and cooperation is trained through a crossover team organization style that each team is organized by two groups from different universities and the team members required to cooperate with each other via the internet to make robots and deal with competition affairs. Our experience shows the competition benefits not only students' technical skills but also their various no-technical skills and is expected to promote the development of a practice based university education methodology in the future. © 2012 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Internet based crossover robot remote control competition among Asian countries: Development of practice based innovative education methodology, phase III(2010-11-29) ;Xu, C. ;Ming, A. ;Kanamori, C. ;Aoyama, H.Li, H.We report the 3rd year's progress of an internet based crossover robot remote control competition which is an international cooperative educational project among Japan, China, Thailand, and Taiwan. In 2009 we proposed a new competition model called "Cargo loading via internet based cooperation" in which a locally controlled humanoid robot and a wheeled mobile robot under remote control cooperate with each other to search for and find some cargos, then load them on the mobile robot or put them into a cargo box. The unique of the project is that everything concerned with the competition, e.g. the competition rules, the detailed technical problems, etc., are discussed and solved by students themselves from different partner universities via the internet based cooperation. The demonstration of the proposed competition between UEC and partner universities proves the project helps to improve students' practical ability, creative thinking, good teamwork spirit, and communication skills in English, etc. © 2010 IEEE.
