Item type:Publication, Feedback compensation design for switched mode power supplies with a Right-Half-Plane (RHP) zero(2004-12-01) ;Kittipeerachon, K.A boost and flyback converters operating in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) are notorious for their difficult control loop stabilisation and sluggish response. This paper describes feedback compensation design of these converters. Design of the two selected compensation circuits is illustrated with a CCM boost converter, with experimental results given to verify effectiveness of each compensation circuit. © 2004 KMITL. Item type:Publication, Dielectric analysis of degraded stator bars of a hydro generator(2022-04-01); ;Phumipunepon, Natnaree ;Srinangyam, Chissanupong ;Jeenmuang, SiwakornThis paper presents the investigation of dielectric analysis of degraded stator bars by Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) measurement. The stator bars obtained from the 30-year in-service synchronous machine were divided into two groups. The first group was the unmodified stator bars. The second group was the simulated degradation stator bars which were composed of the thermal stress stator bars, conductive tap abrasion stator bars, multiple air cavity stator bars, multiple oil filled stator bars and multiple water filled stator bars. PDC test experiment was performed with the stator bar samples. PDC test results were analyzed in time domain and in frequency domain with the derived parameters i.e. R<inf>dc</inf>, real and imaginary part of complex capacitance, C ratio, conduction loss factor and polarization loss factor. It was found that PDC shapes obtained from the conductive tape abrasion stator bar and multiple water filled cavity stator bar were clearly different from that of the unmodified stator bar. For other case studies, the derived parameters showed the usefulness in analysis the degraded stator bar characteristics. For example, the increase in the imaginary capacitance and conduction loss factor can be observed from most cases of degraded stator bar test results. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, UWB Transmission Waveform Application for in an Indoor Localization System(2024-01-01) ;Mankong, Thanadon; Nowadays, the indoor localization systems had been widely utilized. The popular use of localization system is the global position system (GPS). However, the system fails in particular environments such as indoors because low received signal power. It is not appropriate to take a position. The indoor localization system was used to assist in finding a position in an indoor environment. There are several techniques used to evaluate. Technique trilateration model is a technique of geometric. This technique leverages circular intersections to estimate target positions. The circles are derived from a set of reference positions. This paper studies on indoor positioning in line of sight (LOS) using by IEEE 802.15.4 standard in ultra wideband option which this study employs trilateration to estimate the position of target objects. Biconical antennas with vertical polarization serve as both transmitting and receiving elements. The evaluation is conducted using a vector network analyzer (VNA) across a frequency range of 3GHz to 11GHz. Item type:Publication, Compensator design for a peak current mode controlled buck converter(2019-07-01) ;Trakuldit, SiripanThis paper presents compensator design for a peak current mode controlled buck converter. Given the closed-loop converter model, the open loop and output impedance transfer functions are derived. Based on the open loop transfer function, the compensator design is carried out to yield the open loop frequency response with a desired gain, crossover frequency, and phase margin. The well designed compensator also results in small output impedance, which is an indicator for good output voltage regulation. Item type:Publication, Distortion Analysis of the HB-UWB Transmission Waveform for WBAN Applications(2018-07-02) ;Sanguanpuak, Chanidaphar; The body area network (BAN) is a wireless technology, which play an important role in very short range wireless communications and find a wide variety of applications such as WiMedia for relaying information gathered by biological sensors on body. The ultra wideband (UWB) technology is suitable for BAN system because of transmission by impulse radio and low power. However, signal distortion due to human body effect in human body-ultrawide band (HB-UWB) channel must be study. In this study, we evaluate HB-UWB channel which serious disturbed by the distortion. The distortion can cause extremely poor signal quality to wireless transmission channel even in free space because of the antenna characteristics and waveform distortion. Thus, the understanding of the effect from characterization of antenna and waveform effect is important. The measurement data of distortion analysis due the antenna and human body of HB-UWB for WBAN were presented in this research report. The receiver waveform template was present to maximize system signal to noise ration. The equation of Friis had been used to evaluate the results. The proposed method is practical for the HB-UWB evaluation, UWB antenna design, and provide more precision to identify the waveform distortion. Item type:Publication, Analysis design and experimental verification of a two-switch forward converter(2015-12-01) ;Wuti, V.A forward converter is an isolated DC-DC converter widely used in switching power supplies with output power ratings ranging from 50W to 400W. The conventional forward converter requires a transformer with a tertiary winding to assist in magnetic core reset and subjects its power switch to a high voltage at turn-off. These shortcomings are eliminated in the two-switch forward converter. This paper presents analysis, design and experimental verification of a two-switch forward converter. First, the converter operation is analyzed, enabling its key equations and important waveforms to be established. Then, the converter design, including both the power circuit and feedback controller, is illustrated in detail. The hard-switching operation incurs high stress and switching losses to the device. These problems can be alleviated by zero voltage switching in which a power switch is made to turn on and off at zero voltage. This paper presents analysis and design of a Zero-Voltage-Switched (ZVS) quasi-resonant buck converter operating in full-wave mode. The prototype converter is designed and built. Item type:Publication, Novel Current Feedforward Average Current Mode Control technique to improve output dynamic performance of DC-DC converters(2007-12-01) ;Chrin, P.This paper proposes a novel Current Feedforward Average Current Mode Control (CFACMC) technique to improve output dynamic performance of DC-DC converters. In this new control scheme, besides its usual role as a feedback variable to a current controller, the sensed inductor current is fed forward, through a low-pass filter circuit, to sum with an output signal from a voltage controller to form the control signal. In the paper, the operating principle of CFACMC and its small signal model are described. From the small-signal model, the expression for selecting the gain of the low-pass filter to yield the improved output voltage response is derived. Item type:Publication, A self-oscillating flyback converter with primary feedback control(2020-01-01) ;Khemmanee, BunditDue to its simplicity and low component count, a self-oscillating flyback converter is an ideal topology for cost sensitive applications, such as mobile phone chargers and auxiliary power supplies. To regulate the output voltage, the conventional self-oscillating flyback converter employs a secondary feedback current mode control scheme whose major components include a TL431 error amplifier and optocoupler. These two components nonetheless contribute significantly to a total cost of the self-oscillating flyback converter. A further cost reduction can be achieved, if the error amplifier and optocoupler can be eliminated altogether. This paper proposes a self-oscillating flyback converter with primary feedback control. In the proposed converter, the error amplifier and optocoupler are replaced by a Zener diode, and the output voltage from the auxiliary winding is used as a feedback variable, instead of the actual output voltage from the secondary winding. In the paper, the operation of the proposed converter is described. The prototype converter operating from a 220 V AC main and producing an output of 24 V/0.5 A is fabricated and tested. Item type:Publication, A Study of Low Band UWB Localization with Wooden and Metal Bookshelves Based on Measurement Data(2024-01-01) ;Mankong, Thanadon; This paper considers the potential of Impulse-Radio Ultra-Wideband (IR-UWB) technology which can be a barcodes replacement in bookshelf management systems. To assess its feasibility, we analyze IR-UWB propagation characteristics within bookshelf environments, particularly focusing on the impact of wooden and metal structures. A measurement-based evaluation scheme is employed, utilizing a vector network analyzer (VNA) alongside microstrip patch antennas for both the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) operating within a frequency range of 3.2GHz to 4.8GHz. The path loss, received signal strength (RSS), and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the measured data are then analyzed to evaluate the suitability of IR-UWB for bookshelf management applications. These findings will inform the design of IR-UWB antennas and the overall assessment of this technology in this specific context
