Item type:Publication, X-ray characterization, structural analysis, antibacterial activity, and self-cleaning property of Cu-doped TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite prepared by sonochemical process(2024-12-01); ;Songpanit, Maneerat ;Sanyen, Thanyapa ;Samart, SutichaiTiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> nanocomposites with different copper (Cu) precursor loadings were prepared by a one-step sonochemical process. The mole ratio of Cu precursor in TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composite was varied at 0.004, 0.008, 0.020, and 0.040, respectively. The specific X-ray characterization techniques on crystalline structure, chemical composition, and chemical states of Cu-doped TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composite were carried out by X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. Surface morphology and chemical bonding of Cu-doped TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composite were monitored by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR). For antibacterial properties, the inhibition zone of antimicrobial activity was investigated by varying amounts of Cu precursors in the TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composite. After that, Cu-doped TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composite powder with different Cu precursor ratios was mixed in PMMA solution and deposited on glass slides to study the optical property and hydrophilicity by UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer and contact angle method. XRD patterns of Cu-doped TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> nanocomposites show the formation of the main TiO<inf>2</inf> anatase phase with the ultrafine particles observed by FE-SEM images. FT-IR spectra of the composites are assigned to the prominent peaks of the Ti-O-Ti and Ti-O-Si bond relating to the TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> host matrix. Meanwhile, TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> composites with Cu precursor at 0.004 mol ratio can significantly enhance the antibacterial activity with a large inhibition zone. The contact angle value of Cu-doped TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> nanocomposite film at 0.040 Cu precursor mole ratio in the TiO<inf>2</inf>-SiO<inf>2</inf> matrix resulted in the optimized composite ratio for achieving a hydrophilic surface on the substrate.6 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Ga-doped ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by sonochemical-assisted process(2018-01-01) ;Santibenchakul, S. ;Sirijaturaporn, P.; Pechrapa, W.In this work, the experimental work has been conducted on the synthesis of Gallium (Ga)- doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles with different doping concentration (0-5% at.) via sonochemical process. The precursors of Ga-doped ZnO nanoparticle were sourced by zinc acetate dehydrate and gallium (III) nitrate hydrate, respectively. Ammonia (NH<inf>3</inf>) was chosen as a precipitating agent in sonochemical process. The sonochemical time was operated for 10 min by a direct-immersion ultrasonic horn using Sonic model VCX 750 (750W, 20 KHz). Structural properties and morphologies were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that Ga doped ZnO powder after the synthesis were obtained in ultrafine structure that different form with pure ZnO. XRD analysis revealed that the pattern of Ga doped ZnO powder showed good crystallinity with the wurtzite structure due to the preferred orientation direction and crystallization. Ga doping concentration plays a key role in significant change of ZnO structures. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Structural, optical and magnetic properties of diluted magnetic perovskite ZnTiO3 doped with Co and Mn prepared by sonochemical method(2017-01-01) ;Wattanawikkam, Chakkaphan ;Phoohinkong, WeerachonWe employed a sonochemical method to fabricate transition metal ion doped perovskite ZnTiO<inf>3</inf> (M-ZnTiO<inf>3</inf>) nanoparticles, including individual Co and Mn ions. The Zn:Ti was mixed in molar ratio of 1:1 to obtain starting precursor for ZnTiO<inf>3</inf>. The different concentrations of Co (5-10 mol%) and Mn (3-7 mol%) were doped in ZnTiO<inf>3</inf>, then the mixing solution were irradiated in high frequency ultrasound of a sonometer (20 kHz, 750 W) at room temperature to obtain the as-prepared samples. The final products were calcined at 800°C for 3 h to improve the crystallinity. We confirmed formation structures of M-ZnTiO<inf>3</inf> nanoparticles by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and used X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy (XANES) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique to investigate the crystal structure and valence states of the sample. Meanwhile, we studied their optical properties by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and evaluated magnetic properties of the samples at room temperature by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Magnetization measurements revealed the paramagnetic behavior for Co-ZnTiO<inf>3</inf> and weak ferromagnetic behavior for Mn-ZnTiO<inf>3</inf>. We also investigated and discussed the effect of metal ion doping concentration on the structural, optical and magnetic properties. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Synthesis and Characterization of Zn-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles via Sonochemical Method(2015-09-02) ;Wattanawikkam, C.Zn-doped TiO<inf>2</inf> nanoparticles were successfully fabricated using sonochemical method accompanying post calcination process. Titanium isopropoxide (Ti[OC3H7]4) and Zinc chloride (ZnCl2) were used as starting precursors for Ti and Zn sources, respectively. The homogeneous mixing solution of different Zn (0-1 mol%) and Ti ratio were irradiated in high intensity ultrasound sonometer (750 W 20 kHz) for 30 min at room temperature to obtain as-synthesized Zn-doped TiO<inf>2</inf> nanoparticles followed by calcination at 400-700°C. To evaluate the structure and phase identification of prepared powders, the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy were employed. The results reveal that the as-synthesized Zn-doped TiO<inf>2</inf> nanoparticles are in anatase phase and their crystallinity increases with increasing calcined temperature. The morphology of as-synthesized powders was investigated by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The effect of Zn content and calcinations temperature on TiO<inf>2</inf> properties was also discussed. © 20151 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Low-temperature preparation of BaCeO3 through ultrasonic-assisted precipitation for application in solid oxide electrolysis cell(2015-06-20) ;Kim-Lohsoontorn, P. ;Paichitra, C. ;Vorathamthongdee, S.Barium cerate (BaCeO<inf>3</inf>) was synthesized using conventional precipitation and ultrasonic-assisted precipitation. The effect of precipitation parameters (precipitation precursor, precipitation agent, agent concentration and temperature) significantly affected %perovskite formation and crystallite size of the product. Precipitation with 1 M (NH<inf>4</inf>)<inf>2</inf>C<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf> induced the formation of a single-phase BaCeO<inf>3</inf> while precipitation with 5-20 M NaOH provided a mixed phase of BaCeO<inf>3</inf> and CeO<inf>2</inf>. The %perovskite increased as increasing precipitation temperature; however, the crystallite size of the product also increased. Increasing ultrasonic intensity (30 and 150 W cm-2) during precipitation was found to increase the %perovskite and to reduce crystallite size. The precipitation with 1 M (NH<inf>4</inf>)<inf>2</inf>C<inf>2</inf>O<inf>4</inf> agent, using ultrasonic intensity at 150 W cm-2, provided single phase BaCeO<inf>3</inf> with crystallite size of 18.4 nm after calcination at 900 °C for 4 h. The electrochemical performance of the BaCeO<inf>3</inf> cell under steam electrolysis condition (controlled voltage from OCV to 1.5 V; 20% H<inf>2</inf>O, 40% H<inf>2</inf>, and 40% N<inf>2</inf>) was measured (600-800 °C) and the activation energy of conduction was calculated to be 0.78 eV.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Sb-doped SnO2 nanoparticles synthesized by sonochemical-assisted precipitation process(2015-02-01) ;Noonuruk, Russameeruk; ; ;Sritharathikhun, JaranSb-doped SnO<inf>2</inf> nanopowders were synthesized by sonochemical-assisted precipitation process using stannic chloride pentahydrate (SnCl<inf>4</inf> · 5H<inf>2</inf>O) and antimony chloride (SbCl<inf>3</inf>) as starting precursors. Effect of sonication and Sb doping concentrations on physical structures and electrical properties of Sb-doped SnO<inf>2</inf> nanoparticles were investigated by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and two-point probe method. The results indicated that the good dispersion with less agglomeration of particles in SnO<inf>2</inf> phase can be obtained by single step sonochemical-assisted process. Moreover, XRD results indicated that the crystallinity of Sb-doped SnO<inf>2</inf> nanopowders deteriorated with increasing Sb content, suggesting that Sb dopant significantly prevent SnO<inf>2</inf> crystallite growth. The XPS spectra of Sb-doped SnO<inf>2</inf> obviously confirmed the existence of Sb ion incorporated into SnO<inf>2</inf> matrix. These results revealed that incorporation of Sb ions into SnO<inf>2</inf> lattice with specific concentration has significant influence on formation and crystallization and can dramatically enhance the conductivity of tin oxide. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Synthesis of vanadium oxide/titanium dioxide nanocomposites via sonochemical and hydrothermal process and their utilisation for energy storage application(2014-01-01) ;Kahattha, C. ;Techitdheera, W.; This work focuses on the synthesis of V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf>/TiO <inf>2</inf> nanocomposites by sonochemical and hydrothermal process. First, titanium dioxide (TiO<inf>2</inf>) nanopowders were synthesised by sonochemical process using titanium isopropoxide as a titanium source. Meanwhile, hydrothermal process was employed to modify the structure of commercial V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> powder to be nanorod-like structure V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> to increase its specific surface area. Structural and morphological properties of the composites were characterised by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. The XRD results indicate that the crystallisation of the composite corresponds to anatase and orthorhombic structures of TiO<inf>2</inf> and V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf>, respectively. The significant variation of charge storage properties of the composites under ultraviolet irradiation was obtained by varying V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> content in the composite. Results suggest that V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> loaded into the nanocomposite plays a key role as a storage material of photoelectrons generated by TiO<inf>2</inf> illuminated by ultraviolet irradiation. Item type:Publication, Effect of sonication time and calcination temperature on physical properties of titanium dioxide synthesized via sonochemical-assisted process(2013-10-29) ;Kahattha, Chokchai; Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO<inf>2</inf>) were successfully synthesized via a sonochemical-assisted process using titanium isopropoxide as the titanium sources and calcination process at 300-500 °C. The effect of sonication time and heat treatment temperature on structural and nanostructure properties of the nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The XRD and Raman results indicated that the crystalline of as-sonochemically synthesized TiO<inf>2</inf> nanoparticles corresponded to anatase phase of TiO<inf>2</inf> after sonication for 30 mim. The high quality crystalline anatase phase and increasing of crystalline size can be obtained after calcinations process. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Sonochemical synthesis and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles(2011-01-01) ;Wongpisutpaisan, Narongdet ;Charoonsuk, Piyanut; Copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were synthesized by a sonochemical process using copper nitrate and sodium hydroxide in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a starting precursor. The precipitated product was calcined at various temperature ranging from 400-700°C. The physical microstructure and morphology of as-calcined nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). From XRD observation, it is evident that the high purity CuO nanoparticles were obtained by this synthesis process. It was additionally revealed that its crystallization and particle size was strongly dependent on the reaction time and calcination temperature. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
