Item type:Publication, Basic investigation of breast cancer detection in early stage using microwave radiation: Finite element analysis approach(2011-12-01) ;Sanpanich, A.; ; ; Wongtrairat, W.One of the main problem which threatening health in middle-aged women around the world is breast cancer. Not only a physical painfulness but also including her own family and victim relatives who suffering from this unavoidable pity fate. To detect those cancerous tumors as in an earlier stage as possible seem to be the best way to handle with this hazard. Besides from x-rays mammography and a conventional diagnostic ultrasound, microwave radiation tomography technique is a promising method to investigate any abnormality forming in her mammalian gland. In this paper, we propose a simulation of microwave radiation using a finite element method (FEM) of our modified imaging setup system for female breast cancer diagnosis. By using FEM, we propose a preliminary study of microwave breast cancer detection from a patch antenna propagation in 3D tissue space approaching. In term of wave penetration, voluminous 3D distribution geometry of electrical field in nonhomogenous simple breast phantom model was presented. These simulations not only show a promising result but also encourage us to develop a real imaging setup system in the near future. © 2011 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Development of bone mineral density and bone mineral content measurements system using a dual energy x-ray(2012-12-01) ;Promworn, Y.This paper presented a design of a bone mineral density (BMD) and bone mineral content (BMC) measurements system. The main components consist of an outer structure with lead sheet for x-ray protection, x-ray source controlled by microcontroller, CCD-type x-ray detector, detector controller, and computer program for devices control. The acquired x-ray image is sent to PC for image processing. The bone mineral density and bone mineral content measurement is based on dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. Item type:Publication, Novel limited knee flexion angle device(2017-12-19) ;Reanaree, ParkbhumKnee injuries have become more common in Thailand, either caused from the sport or from the accident. The treatment is mostly a surgery. Hence, after the surgery, the patient must be closely monitored to prevent complications and repetitive injury. It also requires physical therapy to restore the knee function to resume a normal use. For this reason, the idea of creating a device that can restrict the patient's knee bend by internal mechanisms to prevent repetitive injury was brought out by measuring the flexion of the patient's knee using 3-axis Accelerometer / Gyro Module (IMU). The information is then displayed through a computer program created so that the doctor or physiotherapist can adjust the therapy to suit a particular patient individually. This will result the patient to return to normal life as quickly as possible. The device is designed by computer aided design (CAD) software and is simulated. The device has an electronic circuit that communicates with the computer wirelessly (Bluetooth) to send data to the display on the generated program. Item type:Publication, Use of computational fluid dynamics nasal airflow measurement to design septoplasty: A pilot study(2013-01-01) ;Mahasittiwat, Visan ;Hemtiwakorn, KhaisangDeviation in the nasal septum that obstructs airflow is a source of discomfort to patients. Areas of nasal malformation then, need to be identified before performing surgery. In the present study, the authors introduce the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) technique to predict regions of limited airflow based on CT scan reconstruction of the nasal cavity. The present study proposes to use CFD to identify regions of obstructed airflow and design a surgical procedure to correct them. The authors report three cases with obstructed nasal airflow together with CFD measurements before and after the surgery. Results indicate that CFD is useful to verify the areas of airflow abnormality and conform with the results obtained using other methods. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, 3D finite element analysis of heat transfer efficiency in double wall infant incubator(2012-12-01) ;Wongkamhang, A.; ;Airphaiboon, S.; Thongpance, N.This paper presents a study of heat transfer efficiency in double wall infant incubator by using 3D finite element method. Double wall infant incubator was modeled by using general CAD program then FEM analysis was implemented based on heat transfer and fluid dynamic principle. Real temperature measurement also performed to validate our simulation by using a general infant incubator and an infant incubator analyzer. Real experimental data at each 4 monitoring points and simulation data provide a small difference in temperature. Item type:Publication, An accurate forearm EMG signal classification method using two-channel electrode(2013-01-01) ;Sueaseenak, Direk ;Chanwimalueang, Theerasak; Sangworasil, ManasAn accurate electromyography (EMG) classification algorithm to control a virtual hand prosthesis with 12 degrees of freedom using two surface EMG electrodes is presented in this paper. We propose the application of independent component analysis (ICA) for blind-source separation of the EMG signals obtained from two electrodes. One of the problems affecting the EMG classification accuracy is the location dependence of the EMG signal due to the superposition of signals from multiple sources. ICA is used to separate the two signals obtained from two surface electrodes into two independent EMG signals prior to the feature extraction and classification processes. We demonstrate that the EMG classification accuracy can be improved using the ICA algorithm. We also propose a novel eigen-based feature that is extracted from the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) magnitude spectrum. Our new feature not only decreases feature dimensions but also performs better than other well-known features. We also implement the EMG classification scheme on the virtual robot arm. The performance shows promising result as indicated by a decrease in the Davies-Bolden (DB) index after applying the ICA. © 2013 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Item type:Publication, Smart wheelchair based on eye tracking(2017-02-21) ;Wanluk, Nutthanan; ;Juhong, AniwatThis project is a smart wheelchair based on eye tracking which is designed for people with locomotor disabilities. The add-on controlled module can be used with any electrical wheelchair. The smart wheel chair consists of four modules including imaging processing module, wheelchair-controlled module, SMS manager module and appliance-controlled module. The image processing module comprises of a webcam installed on the eyeglass and C++ customized image processing software. The captured image which is transmitted to raspberry Pi microcontroller will be processed using OpenCV to derive the 2D direction of eye ball. The coordinate of eyeball movement is then wirelessly transmitted to wheelchair-controlled module to control the movement of wheel chair. The wheelchair-controlled module is two dimensional rotating stages that installed to the joystick of the electrical wheelchair to replace the manual control of the wheelchair. The motion of eyeball is also used as the cursor control on the raspberry Pi screen to control the operation of some equipped appliance and send message to smart phone. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The principles of thermal radiate using three-dimensional finite element methods is show the efficiency and effect of Infant radiant warmer. In the design of the system has to model the underlying reality of the infant radiant warmer are used for Simulation results were similar to reality as possible. The simulation results of thermal radiation from the infrared lamp to mattress by using the three-dimensional finite element methods simulation as close to the true result. The results come in the form of temperature, temperature gradient and the direction of heat radiation into the mattress. The result can be that the effects of radiation on the skin of newborns using infant radiant warmer treatment. Item type:Publication, Fingerprint alignment based on local feature combined with affine geometric invariant(2010-12-01); ;Cohen, Fernand S.Iampa, WoranutIn this paper we introduce a novel method of fingerprint alignment that uses the intrinsic geometric properties of minutiae-based triangles combined with the geometric invariant. The minutiae points are extracted from the fingerprint image and a Delaunay (DL) triangulation is constructed from these minutiae points resulting in a series of triangles. Corresponding minutiae points are established using local affine invariants constructed from the local minutia-based triangles. Triangles that are distorted by noise or have no counter part on the query are discarded. We rely only on "strong" matches that are reliable and present, for example, where the error metric between the local absolute invariants is below a set threshold. The correspondences of such matches are then used to estimate transformation parameters. The performance of our method is represented by computing the distance map error between a template and a query fingerprint after undoing the transformation, computed from the ridge structures of the two fingerprints. In conclusion, the proposed method can be used to find the corresponding minutiae and align any fingerprints considered into affine transformation, in the presence of noise including the partial occlusion. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Biometric Authentication Using Palm Dorsal Vein Patterns(2019-11-01) ;Pititeeraphab, YutthanaPalm-dorsa vein pattern, was a new technology for security system because it has more reliable and easy to capture by low resolution devices. This research focuses on the development of palm-dorsa vein pattern identification By using the pattern of palm-dorsa vein of the hand in each person to extraction. We use radius distance methods to find the position of the the concave of the finger from the hand contour. The radius distance method is highly flexible, accurately detecting the curves of concave point. We use these reference points to detect regions of interest. The sample images are acquired from the simple and low-cost acquisition system. The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
