Item type:Publication, Analysis of effective numerical aperture in 2-D photonic crystal waveguide(2014-01-01) ;Chantakit, T.; ; Yupapin, P. P.The effective numerical aperture calculation in two-dimensional Photonic crystal waveguide has been proposed. In this paper we present the analysis of ray optics refracted inside nano rods and at the boundaries between rods, which separates rod gap is much smaller than the incident wavelength assumed to reflect on the region. In operation, the resolving numerical aperture was compared with the finite difference time domain method via OptiFDTD software. Although numerical aperture mentioned above was found to be extremely close to fiber optics, a transmission passes though compartments of the rods are observed due to significant estimation of transmission and reflection of electric field. The compared simulation results will be discussed. By the aforementioned is that in the near future we will modify wave equation in periodic media of waveguide structures reached to the transverse electric equation of beam propagation in the two-dimensional Photonic crystal waveguide analysed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Growth stage detection for food consumption management in smart cricket farming using a deep learning technique(2025-11-01) ;Nutnoi, Nitipoom; ; ; This research proposed a novel method for tracking and predicting the growth stages of two-spotted crickets, reared in a temperature-controlled box at different growth stages using the YOLOv5s model. The images of crickets feeding inside the rearing box were taken with an infrared camera above the feeding point every hour. Images of the cricket were used to train a YOLOv5s model to detect crickets for each growth stage in the rearing box. The experimental results showed that the trained deep learning had an average accuracy of 95.7%. The relationship between the ratio of crickets at each growth stage throughout the 45-day rearing period was plotted and discussed. The results also showed a clear relationship between the amount of food consumed by crickets per day and their growth stage, which could be useful for appropriately managing food consumption according to the growth stage of crickets. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A nano-scale transducer using a PANDA type ring resonator for gas sensor applications(2012-03-01); ; ;Tipaphong, WeraphanYupapin, Preecha P.We present a new system of nano-scale gas sensor using PANDA type ring resonator, whereas the sensing unit is a splitting ring resonator with two and four gaps. The method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) via the computer programming called Opti-wave was used to analyze and simulated all the parameters. The two systems were compared and the simulation result shown that the system of four splitting gaps is better resolution and more linear relationship than two splitting gaps unit. Finally, we found that this system can be used to be a high-precision self-calibration nano-scale gas sensor with in the of resolution of 1 nm. © 2011 Elsevier GmbH. Item type:Publication, A novel system of the simultaneous trapping of dark-bright solitons within a nano-waveguide system(2010-10-01) ;Pornsuwancharoen, N. ;Fujii, Y.; Yupapin, P. P.We propose a novel system of a nano-waveguide that can be used to generate the continuous spectrum, i.e. white light. The simultaneous trapping and generation of short and millimeter waves can also be performed by using either bright or dark soliton. A system consists of two micro- and a nano-ring resonators that can be integrated into a single system. The large bandwidth is generated by a soliton pulse within a Kerr-type nonlinear medium where the continuous bandwidth or wavelength can be performed. The simultaneous dark-bright solitons conversion is performed and achieved. Results obtained have shown the potential of using the technique for continuing light spectra generation, where the filtering signals are allowed by using the suitable device parameters. The advantage is that the large bandwidth separation of the short and sub-millimeter waves can be obtained, which is allowed to form the simultaneous generation of short and millimeter waves within a single system. Further, light pulse can be trapped within a nano-waveguide, which is available to form the memory device. © 2009 Elsevier GmbH. Item type:Publication, SOLITON SPIN in AN ADD-DROP OPTICAL FILTER for LONG DISTANCE SPIN TRANSPORT(2012-03-01) ;Teeka, C. ;Aziz, M. S.; ; Ali, J.A new concept of an optical spin generation using bright and dark soliton conversion behaviors within a modified optical add-drop filters known as a PANDA ring resonator is proposed. The orthogonal solitons can be formed randomly within the system and detected simultaneously at the output ports. Under the resonant condition, the orthogonal solitons corresponding to the left-hand and right-hand solitons (photons) can be generated. Whenever a photon is absorbed by an object, an angular momentum of either + ℏ or - ℏ is imparted to the object, in which two possible spin states known as soliton spins are exhibited. Item type:Publication, Two dimension photonic crystal Y-branch beam splitter with variation of splitting ratio based on hybrid defect controlled(2014-10-09) ;Chantakit, Teanchai; Yupapin, Preecha P.This article represents a new Y-branch hybrid design of 2D photonic crystal with defect control. The structure is made of hexagonal arrays of InP nano-rods surrounded by air. This system is comprised of a modified add/change to a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) rod, which can be applied to the beam splitter selection device. The optical properties and radial of PMMA defect rods have been transfigured. By selecting an appropriate temperature, a change of refractive index and expanded radius are occurred. The obtained results have shown that the selected optical amplitude in a hybrid semiconductor-polymer Y-branch can be separated to 50–50, 60–40 and 67–33 % at wavelength 1.557 µm. Both of the photonic band gap and transmission spectra are calculated by using 2D finite different time domain (FDTD) method via OptiFDTD software. Item type:Publication, Accurate RMS calculations for periodic signals by Trapezoidal rule with the least data amount(2013-11-12) ;Poomjan, Sompop; ; ; The purpose of this research is to present a simple method using the least data amount to calculate root mean square (RMS) values of periodic signals (constructed from Fourier series) which the highest harmonic order is known or able to be estimated. In the research, trapezoidal rule with the least data amount was proved and tried to calculate definite integral values of sinusoidal signals from a lot of trial runs until a significant property was found. Then the property would be deployed to calculate RMS values. Results of the research can provide not only more convenient processes of simple trapezoidal rule but also more accurate results than the patented Simpson's rule in the same least data amount. © 2013 Sompop Poomjan et al. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Dry film Holographic grating based on computer-generated mask Lithography(2022-01-01) ;Inneam, Chanikan ;Tipawan Khlayboonme, S.; ; This paper presented an alternative technique for fabricating the dry film holographic grating based on a mask generated by computer simulation and experimental results. The mask was generated by a fringe pattern which is created by the mathematical model of two beams interference with various angles. Computer simulation of the fringe pattern was printed on film, i.e., the holographic grating mask. The mask was attached on dry film and then illuminated by UV light, where the lithography technique was applied. According to the lithography technique, the computer-generated holographic grating mask was transferred to dry film. After fabrication, fringe patterns obtained from the grating were observed. Then, the grating period was analyzed and confirmed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Item type:Publication, Design and simulation of asymmetric Y-junction beam splitter with controllable splitting based on adjusted air-hole defect(2022-01-01) ;Phongwisit, Phachara; ; ; We report a construction of a new asymmetric Y-junction beam splitter with a controllable splitting ratio and simulate this splitter. The splitter is based on InP, has the area 65.0 µm<sup>2</sup> and operates at the light wavelengths 1.48 and 1.55 µm. Under condition of no air-hole defect, the splitting ratio for the output ports 1 and 2 is equal to 92/8 at the both wavelengths. To control the splitting ratio, air-hole defects with different (diamond, square and cylinder) shapes are introduced at the junction between the two output ports. Our simulations confirm that the splitting ratio of the beam splitter can be efficiently controlled by changing the size and the shape of the air-hole defect. The maximal splitting ratios at our operating wavelengths are equal to 10/90 and 14/86 and the appropriate average insertion losses amount to 0.36 and 0.31 dB for all of defect shapes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Distributed sensors using a PANDA ring resonator type in multiwavelength router(2011-08-08) ;Tamee, Kreangsak; ;Mitatha, SomsakYupapin, Preecha P.We propose a new system of microring sensing transducer using a PANDA ring resonator type, in which the sensing unit is consisted of an optical add/drop filter and two nanoring resonators, where one ring is placed as a transducer (sensing unit), the other ring is set as a reference ring. In operation, the external force is assumed to exert on the sensing ring resonator. The method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) via the computer programming called Optiwave is used to simulate the sensing behaviors. The obtained results have shown that the change in wavelength due to the change in sensing ring radii is seen, in which the wavelength shift of 1 nm resolution is achieved. The distributed sensing system is designed, which is available for network sensing applications. The behavior of light within a PANDA ring resonator is also analyzed and reviewed. © 2006 IEEE.
