Item type:Publication, Tunable mixed-mode voltage differencing buffered amplifier-based universal filter with independently high-q factor controllability(2021-10-01); ;Faseehuddin, Mohammad ;Herencsar, NorbertThis paper proposes the design of a mixed-mode universal biquad configuration, which realizes generic filter functions in all four possible modes, namely voltage mode (VM), current mode (CM), transadmittance mode (TAM), and transimpedance mode (TIM). The filter architecture employs two voltage differencing buffered amplifiers (VDBAs), two resistors and two capacitors, and can provide lowpass (LP), bandpass (BP), highpass (HP), bandstop (BS), and allpass (AP) bi-quadratic filtering responses without any circuit alteration. All passive elements used are grounded, except VM. The circuit not only allows for the electronic tuning of the natural angular frequency (ωo), but also achieves orthogonal tunability of the quality factor (Q). It also provides the feature of availability of output voltage at the low-output impedance terminal in VM and TIM, and does not require inverting-type or double-type input signals to realize all the responses. Moreover, in all modes of operation, the high-Q filter can be easily obtained by adjusting a single resistance value. Influences of the VDBA nonidealities and parasitic elements are also discussed in detail. PSPICE simulations with TSMC 0.18-µm CMOS process parameters and experimental testing results with commercially available IC LT1228s have been used to validate the theoretical predictions. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Three-Input One-Output Voltage-Mode Biquadratic Filter Using Single VDBA(2020-03-01); ; In this article, a voltage-mode universal biquadratic filter with triple inputs and single output (TISO) is presented. The circuit consists of only one voltage differencing buffered amplifier (VDBA) along with two capacitors and one resistor. The proposed circuit can realize all five standard biquadratic filter functions namely, lowpass (LP), highpass (HP), bandpass (BP), bandstop (BS) and allpass (AP) without disturbing the circuit structure. The quality factor (Q) and the natural angular frequency (ωo) of the proposed circuit can be controlled by means of the transconductance gain of the VDBA. The circuit also provides low sensitivity performance. The potentiality of the proposed TISO biquadratic filter has been proved by PSPICE program based on TSMC 0.25-μm CMOS technology. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Floating Inductance Simulator with Electronic Tuning Property Using only Active Elements(2023-01-01); ;Mongkolwai, Pratya; ;Dumawipata, TeerasilapaThis paper discusses the active-only electronically tunable floating lossless inductance simulator, which uses a single fully balanced-voltage differencing buffered amplifier (FB-VDBA) and one operational amplifier (OA). For this implementation, only integrated circuit packages with no external passive components are utilized. The synthetic equivalent inductance value is electronically adjustable via the transconductance gain of the FB-VDBA. Non-idealities of the active element have produced their effects. Using PSPICE with TSMC 0.25-mum CMOS parameter and the LM741 type OA, the performance of the proposed circuit and its application as a second-order voltage-mode lowpass filter is demonstrated. The numerical simulations closely matched the theoretical results. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Extended Exploration Grey Wolf Optimization, CFOA-Based Circuit Implementation of the sigr Function and its Applications in Finite-Time Terminal Sliding Mode Control(2023-01-01); ; The development of closed-loop circuit realizations of chaotic synchronization and control is considered a promising aspect of analog electronics. Therefore, this paper explores the use of the sigr function in the implementation of finite-time terminal sliding mode control. A CFOA-based implementation of the sigr function is proposed, whereby an Extended Exploration Grey Wolf Optimization method is used to approximate the non-integer powered transfer function inside the sigr function. This configuration also allows for a parallel configuration in which each coefficient of the transfer function can be independently and elaborately tuned. Two closed-loop circuit realizations of second- and third-order systems are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed sigr function to achieve finite-time terminal sliding mode control. For the second-order system, the terminal sliding mode control is applied to stabilize the chaos in the Holmes-Duffing system in finite time, and for the third-order system, active stabilization of the modified Sprott-C chaotic system is presented. The results show that finite-time control has been satisfactorily achieved in both cases, both in computer simulations and in circuit implementations. Specifically, the second-order closed-loop circuit implementation yielded a maximum error of 1.11%, while the third-order closed-loop circuit implementation had a maximum error of 2.89%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Floating Impedance Simulator Realization(2020-06-01) ;Likhitkitwoerakul, Nutcha; This paper presents the floating impedance function simulator using flipped voltage follower-based differential voltage to current converter (DVTC) along with three passive elements. With the proper selection of the three passive components, the floating inductor, capacitor and frequency- dependent negative resistor (FDNR) can be realized. The realized equivalent impedance value of the proposed simulator can be controlled conveniently by changing the passive element values. A second-order bandstop filter and third-order lowpass filter are designed using the proposed simulators as application examples. To verify the workability of the proposed circuit, simulation results are confirmed through PSPICE program using 0.25-μm CMOS process parameters from TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, On the Realization of Grounded RL/RC Parallel Type Simulator(2021-04-01) ;Likhitkitwoerakul, Nutcha; An actively grounded RL/RC parallel type impedance simulator is presented. It contains two differential voltage to current converters (DVTCs) as an active element and three passive elements, and can simulate RL or RC parallel-type impedance by the proper selection of the external passive elements. The effect of the DVTC non-idealities on the realized simulator is also analyzed mathematically. The usability of the proposed circuit has been shown on the realizations of active second-order voltage mode highpass-and lowpass-filter. PSPICE simulation using TSMC 0.25-m CMOS technology is performed to demonstrate the behavior of the proposed simulator circuit and its filter applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, All-Grounded Passive Component Mixed-Mode Multifunction Biquadratic Filter and Dual-Mode Quadrature Oscillator Employing a Single Active Element(2025-09-01); ;Tangjit, Jetwara ;Faseehuddin, Mohammad; This paper introduces a compact analog configuration that concurrently realizes a mixed-mode biquadratic filter and a dual-mode quadrature oscillator (QO) by employing a single differential differencing gain amplifier (DDGA) and all-grounded passive components. The proposed design supports four fundamental operation modes—voltage-mode (VM), current-mode (CM), trans-impedance-mode (TIM), and trans-admittance-mode (TAM)—utilizing the same circuit topology without structural modifications. In filter operation, it offers low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band-stop, and all-pass responses with orthogonal and electronic pole frequency and quality factor. In oscillator operation, it delivers simultaneous voltage and current quadrature outputs with independent tuning of oscillator frequency and condition. The grounded-component configuration simplifies layout and enhances its suitability for monolithic integration. Numerical simulations in a 0.18-μm CMOS process with ±0.9 V supply confirm theoretical predictions, demonstrating precise gain-phase characteristics, low total harmonic distortion (<7%), modest sensitivity to 5% component variations, and stable operation from −40 °C to 120 °C. These results, combined with the circuit’s low component count and integration suitability, suggest strong potential for future development in low-power IoT devices, adaptive communication front-ends, and integrated biomedical systems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, CMOS Voltage differencing transconductance amplifier with linearly adjustable transconductance gains(2019-07-01); ;Mongkolwai, Pratya; In this work, a circuit configuration for the realization the CMOS voltage differencing transconductance amplifier (VDTA) with linear tunable transconductance and wide-input dynamic range is introduced. The circuit design technique is achieved by squaring the long-tail bias current of the differential-input voltage-to-current converter circuit. In addition, the linearity region of the input signal is also improved by using source degeneration technique. The workability of the proposed linearly tunable VDTA has been shown on the construction of the electronically controllable first-order allpass filter circuit. The proposed circuit and its application are investigated and simulated with PSPICE software using TSMC 0.25μm CMOS technology. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Dual-Mode Tunable First-Order Universal Filters with Single VDGA(2024-01-01); ; This article explores two compact structures to implement dual-mode first-order universal filters, providing lowpass, highpass, and allpass responses from the same structure. Both circuits offer savings in active components as they employ a single voltage differencing gain amplifier (VDGA). The first proposed filter has voltage inputs and current/voltage outputs with a single capacitor, which can perform three distinct filter functions in both voltage mode (VM) and trans-admittance mode (TAM). The latter filter, with current inputs and current/voltage outputs, consists of one capacitor and one resistor, which is capable of operating in both current mode (CM) and trans-impedance mode (TIM). Both of the proposed filters also offer an electronic adjustment of the passband gain and pole frequency through the VDGA’s transconductance values. The non-ideal implications of the VDGA on the first-order filters' performance are thoroughly examined. Computer simulations and experimental testing measurements validate the theoretical analyses. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, DVTC-Based Series RL/RC Impedance Simulator(2021-03-10) ;Likhitkitwoerakul, Nutcha; In this study, a grounded impedance simulator employing differential voltage to current converter (DVTC) as an active element is presented. The proposed circuit consists of two DVTCs along with three passive elements. By properly selecting the three passive elements, the series RL and RC impedance can be simulated. The simulated equivalent resistance, inductance and capacitance values can be accessed by selecting the values of the passive elements. To confirm the workability of the proposed simulator, simulation results in comparison with the theoretical finding have been presented. Second-order current mode lowpass-and highpass-filters are performed as application examples to prove the performance of the proposed simulator.
