Item type:Publication, Analysis of effective numerical aperture in 2-D photonic crystal waveguide(2014-01-01) ;Chantakit, T.; ; Yupapin, P. P.The effective numerical aperture calculation in two-dimensional Photonic crystal waveguide has been proposed. In this paper we present the analysis of ray optics refracted inside nano rods and at the boundaries between rods, which separates rod gap is much smaller than the incident wavelength assumed to reflect on the region. In operation, the resolving numerical aperture was compared with the finite difference time domain method via OptiFDTD software. Although numerical aperture mentioned above was found to be extremely close to fiber optics, a transmission passes though compartments of the rods are observed due to significant estimation of transmission and reflection of electric field. The compared simulation results will be discussed. By the aforementioned is that in the near future we will modify wave equation in periodic media of waveguide structures reached to the transverse electric equation of beam propagation in the two-dimensional Photonic crystal waveguide analysed. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Growth stage detection for food consumption management in smart cricket farming using a deep learning technique(2025-11-01) ;Nutnoi, Nitipoom; ; ; This research proposed a novel method for tracking and predicting the growth stages of two-spotted crickets, reared in a temperature-controlled box at different growth stages using the YOLOv5s model. The images of crickets feeding inside the rearing box were taken with an infrared camera above the feeding point every hour. Images of the cricket were used to train a YOLOv5s model to detect crickets for each growth stage in the rearing box. The experimental results showed that the trained deep learning had an average accuracy of 95.7%. The relationship between the ratio of crickets at each growth stage throughout the 45-day rearing period was plotted and discussed. The results also showed a clear relationship between the amount of food consumed by crickets per day and their growth stage, which could be useful for appropriately managing food consumption according to the growth stage of crickets. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A nano-scale transducer using a PANDA type ring resonator for gas sensor applications(2012-03-01); ; ;Tipaphong, WeraphanYupapin, Preecha P.We present a new system of nano-scale gas sensor using PANDA type ring resonator, whereas the sensing unit is a splitting ring resonator with two and four gaps. The method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) via the computer programming called Opti-wave was used to analyze and simulated all the parameters. The two systems were compared and the simulation result shown that the system of four splitting gaps is better resolution and more linear relationship than two splitting gaps unit. Finally, we found that this system can be used to be a high-precision self-calibration nano-scale gas sensor with in the of resolution of 1 nm. © 2011 Elsevier GmbH. Item type:Publication, Accurate RMS calculations for periodic signals by Trapezoidal rule with the least data amount(2013-11-12) ;Poomjan, Sompop; ; ; The purpose of this research is to present a simple method using the least data amount to calculate root mean square (RMS) values of periodic signals (constructed from Fourier series) which the highest harmonic order is known or able to be estimated. In the research, trapezoidal rule with the least data amount was proved and tried to calculate definite integral values of sinusoidal signals from a lot of trial runs until a significant property was found. Then the property would be deployed to calculate RMS values. Results of the research can provide not only more convenient processes of simple trapezoidal rule but also more accurate results than the patented Simpson's rule in the same least data amount. © 2013 Sompop Poomjan et al. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Elongation measurement using 1-dimensional image correlation method(2016-01-01) ;Phongwisit, Phachara; Aim of this paper was to study, setup, and calibrate an elongation measurement by using 1- Dimensional Image Correlation method (1-DIC). To confirm our method and setup correctness, we need calibration with other methods. In this paper, we used a small spring as a sample to find a result in terms of spring constant. With a fundamental of Image Correlation method, images of formed and deformed samples were compared to understand the difference between deformed process. By comparing the location of reference point on both image's pixel, the spring's elongation were calculated. Then, the results have been compared with the spring constants, which were found from Hooke's law. The percentage of 5 percent error has been found. This DIC method, then, would be applied to measure the elongation of some different kinds of small fiber samples. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Micro stirling engine controlled by light(2011-01-01); ; Yupapin, P. P.This paper proposes a new technique for a micro Stirling engine operation using leaky light resonant or whispering gallery modes (WGMs) in a nano-waveguide, in which the nano-waveguide is designed and configured by a nanoring resonator. By using the Optiwave programming based on Finite Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method, an InGaAsP/InP nanoring resonator was designed and simulated. The simulation results obtained have shown that the leaky light resonant modes can be controlled by the ring radius variations, whereas the maximum resonant peak of nanoring resonator is occurred at the inner and outer ring radii of 0.775 and 1.55 μm respectively. The maximum peak intensity of the nanoring resonator is 12000 W/m2. Finally, the use of leaky light mode resonant peak of the center nanoring resonator for micro-Stirling engine is discussed in details. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and simulation of asymmetric Y-junction beam splitter with controllable splitting based on adjusted air-hole defect(2022-01-01) ;Phongwisit, Phachara; ; ; We report a construction of a new asymmetric Y-junction beam splitter with a controllable splitting ratio and simulate this splitter. The splitter is based on InP, has the area 65.0 µm2 and operates at the light wavelengths 1.48 and 1.55 µm. Under condition of no air-hole defect, the splitting ratio for the output ports 1 and 2 is equal to 92/8 at the both wavelengths. To control the splitting ratio, air-hole defects with different (diamond, square and cylinder) shapes are introduced at the junction between the two output ports. Our simulations confirm that the splitting ratio of the beam splitter can be efficiently controlled by changing the size and the shape of the air-hole defect. The maximal splitting ratios at our operating wavelengths are equal to 10/90 and 14/86 and the appropriate average insertion losses amount to 0.36 and 0.31 dB for all of defect shapes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The effect of substrate temperature on structure and optical properties of copper (II) phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin films prepared by organic evaporation(2007-08-28); ; ;Sumriddetchkajorn, SarunThe influence of substrate temperature controls on Copper (II) phthalocyanine (CuPc) organic thin films onto glass substrate by organic evaporation system has been examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and UV-VIS spectrophotometer. The two control methods are an on-off switching temperature control and a phase temperature control. The various substrate temperatures were controlled at 27, 80, 100, 120 and 150 °C, respectively. The thickness of all thin films is 30 nm. The XRD results from both methods show strongly peaks in orientation of [200] plane as α-phase monoclinic structure. By an on-off switching controlled temperature, the intensity of XRD peaks is increased with increasing substrate temperature. While intensity of XRD results from a phase controlled temperature shows increasing from 27 to 100 °C but decreasing from 120 to 150 °C. The CuPc grown at 150 °C exhibits nanorod-like structure obtained from an on-off switching temperature control and fiber-like structures obtained from a phase temperature controls. The optical absorptions of CuPc thin films of both methods determined from UV-VIS spectrophotometer show two strong peaks at 330 nm and 620 nm, denoted the B-band and Q-band, respectively. © 2007 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Laser-Carved Legacy: Exploring the Scientific Construction and Cultural Significance of the World’s Largest Golden Buddha in Thailand Through a Tourist Perspective(2025-10-01) ;White, Pattarinee ;Phae-Ngam, Wuttichai; ;Naemchanthara, KittisakchaiThis research investigates the intersection of construction innovation and cultural heritage through the lens of tourist perceptions of the world’s largest carved golden Buddha, situated at Khao Chi Chan Mountain, Pattaya, Thailand. Positioned as an emerging tourism destination, this site contributes to the rebranding of Pattaya as a globally significant hub for religious tourism. This study highlights how this monumental Buddha statue fosters spiritual experiences, promotes the conservation of art and culture, and encapsulates a historical narrative tied to Thailand’s royal lineage. Notably, the statue’s creation employed a pioneering technique—the only one of its kind worldwide—involving laser-guided carving by artisans, followed by gold leaf application to enhance its aesthetic magnificence. A mixed-methods research approach was adopted, integrating historical document analysis with narrative accounts of the statue’s construction using modern technology, complemented by quantitative data collected through tourist questionnaires. By documenting the historical use of laser technology in creating this iconic Buddhist landmark, this research corrects misconceptions about its construction process and highlights the innovative application of a 20 W Argon ion laser for drawing the image of Buddha on the cliff. This study evaluates tourist perceptions using the DHARMA model, revealing how Destination Identity, Heritage Values, and Memorable Experiences foster emotional connections and spiritual enrichment (β = 0.801, p < 0.001). The findings underscore Khao Chi Chan’s potential to reposition Pattaya as a hub for Buddhist tourism, diversifying its image beyond nightlife-centric tourism. This work contributes to sustainable tourism by demonstrating how sacred sites can balance cultural preservation and economic vitality, offering insights for heritage management and urban tourism development in Southeast Asia. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
