Item type:Publication, Real-Time Monitoring of Hydraulic Oil Deterioration Using a Hall Effect Sensor Under Operational Conditions(2025-01-01); ;Chartpolrak, PijayaThis paper presents a method for measuring hydraulic oil degradation by detecting metal particle flow using a permanent magnet's magnetic field and monitoring voltage changes in a Hall effect sensor (HES). Degraded hydraulic oil containing increased metal contaminants from component wear exhibits reduced viscosity and higher flow rates. We developed a measurement device incorporating a microcontroller to process data and display contamination levels on an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen, enabling real-time monitoring without interrupting machine operations. Experiments measured voltage variations at three system locations with metal contamination levels from 2.5 to 5.0 grams per liter (in 0.5 grams per liter increments). Results showed the HES output voltage varied linearly with particle concentration, demonstrating a maximum deviation of 4.73 millivolts (0.47 %) at 2.5 grams per liter, particularly at the reservoir outlet. This approach helps assess hydraulic oil contamination under operational conditions, offering advantages in real-time monitoring capability, cost-effectiveness, and non-invasive implementation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The enhancement of sensitivity and response times of PDMS-based capacitive force sensor by means of active layer modification(2021-06-01) ;Siangkhio, Yasumin; ; ; Jessadaluk, SukittiyaIn this work, sensitivity and response times of PDMS-based capacitive force sensors are enhanced via the modifications of the PDMS layer. Two modifying approaches are proposed; (i) change PDMS's (elastomer:curing agent) ratio and (ii) adding conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS into the PDMS layer. The change of PDMS (elastomer:curing agent) ratio from (10:1) to (30:1) increases the sensitivity from 0.4 0.08 to 0.72 0.23 kPa-1 (+80%) but it does not significantly affect the response/recovery times. In addition, by adding 1% wt. of PEDOT:PSS to PDMS (30:1), the further increment of sensitivity from 0.72 0.23 to 1.44 0.17 kPa-1 (+100%) and the shorter response time from 1.59 0.02 to 0.45 0.03 s (-72%) are observed. The mechanical and electrical studies reveal that the change of PDMS (elastomer:curing agent) ratio and the adding of PEDOT:PSS to PDMS layer result in the modification of PDMS's deformability and the increase of charge transportation, leading to the enhancement of sensing characteristics of the sensors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Emulation Technique for Wind Turbines Using Servo Motor and Induction Motor(2024-01-01); ;Taecharoenwiriyakun, Suriya; This paper proposes the emulation technique for wind turbines using two types of motor, servo motor, and induction motor. The focus is on simulating the work process of wind turbines at multi-wind velocity to test the capacity and efficiency of generating three-phase electricity. The wind turbine emulator was created by using a program and mechanical parts. The goal of this emulator is to check the efficiency of wind turbine blades at different wind speeds and to test the accuracy of the simulation method by using a different motor. The first emulator uses a 400-Watt synchronous generator from a wind turbine connected to a 400-Watt servo motor controlled by a servo amplifier. The second emulator uses a 400-Watt synchronous generator from a similar wind turbine connected to a 400-watt induction motor installed with an encoder controlled by an inverter. Motor torque is calculated by using mathematic equations from the LabVIEW program, and the data of the wind turbine blade is simulated by using the ANSYS program. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Influence of Antimony Species on Electrical Properties of Sb-Doped Zinc Oxide Thin Films Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition(2023-06-01) ;Jessadaluk, Sukittaya; ; ; This study systematically investigates the influence of antimony (Sb) species on the electrical properties of Sb-doped zinc oxide (SZO) thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition in an oxygen-rich environment. The Sb species-related defects were controlled through a qualitative change in energy per atom by increasing the Sb content in the Sb<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>:ZnO-ablating target. By increasing the content of Sb<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> (wt.%) in the target, Sb<sup>3+</sup> became the dominant Sb ablation species in the plasma plume. Consequently, n-type conductivity was converted to p-type conductivity in the SZO thin films prepared using the ablating target containing 2 wt.% Sb<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>. The substituted Sb species in the Zn site (Sb<inf>Zn</inf><sup>3+</sup> and Sb<inf>Zn</inf><sup>+</sup>) were responsible for forming n-type conductivity at low-level Sb doping. On the other hand, the Sb–Zn complex defects (Sb<inf>Zn</inf>–2V<inf>Zn</inf>) contributed to the formation of p-type conductivity at high-level doping. The increase in Sb<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> content in the ablating target, leading to a qualitative change in energy per Sb ion, offers a new pathway to achieve high-performing optoelectronics using ZnO-based p–n junctions. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Enhancement of sensing characteristics of Polydimethylsiloxane-based capacitive force sensor by introducing conductive polymer to dielectric layer(2021-01-01) ;Siangkhio, Yasumin; ; ; Jessadaluk, SukittayaA capacitive force sensor is one of the electronics components used in several electronic devices and applications. An improvement of sensing characteristics of the sensor, for example sensitivity and response time, becomes an interesting research topic. The alternative approach to enhance the sensitivity and response time of polydimethylsiloxane-based capacitive force sensors is proposed by introducing poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulphonate, a conductive polymer, into polydimethylsiloxane active layer. Two sensors using different active layers, (i) polydimethylsiloxane (conventional sensor) and (ii) poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulphonate mixed polydimethylsiloxane (modified sensor), were fabricated and characterised to reveal the sensing enhancement. Interestingly, the modified sensor shows the significant increase in the sensitivity from 0.7 to 1.14 kPa<sup>–1</sup> (+62.86%) and the shortening response time from 1.55 to 0.43 s (−72.26%) with respect to the conventional sensor. In addition, the deterioration in elastic behaviour and the faster charge–discharge behaviour observed from the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulphonate mixed polydimethylsiloxane film indicate the better deformation and charge transport than that from polydimethylsiloxane film. Therefore, it can be concluded that the conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate additive plays the role of mechanical and electrical modification of the polydimethylsiloxane active layer leading to the enhancement in sensitivity and response time of the polydimethylsiloxane-based capacitive force sensor. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Application of webcam for inspection of rice grain quality by using image processing technique(2020-10-13); ;Narknam, Namo ;Apichitanon, RuangsitThis paper presents the image processing system for quality inspection of rice grains after sorting process by using an ordinary webcam to ensure that rice grains should meet the quality standards and impurity such as grits, dirt and stones should not be found [1]. Moreover, statistical information of rice grains from image processing could be taken into analysis to enhance the efficiency of the sorting process. Image data analysis of rice grains can be divided into 2 main arrangement conditions, non-overlapping and overlapping. In this study, the experiments to inspect rice grains were applied for 24 samples and 18 experimental designs including the complete and incomplete structures, the overlapping and non-overlapping arrangements, and the combination of rice grains from complete and incomplete structures in equal and unequal ratios. From experiments, it was found that the inspection of rice grain quality by using image processing technique and image data recorded by an ordinary webcam was reliable and efficient. The inspection errors under non-overlapping arrangement condition of complete and incomplete structures of rice grains were not observed. The inspection errors of rice grains combined from complete and incomplete structures in equal and unequal ratios were about 0.8% and 1.11%, respectively. However, under overlapping arrangement condition, it was observed that the inspection errors of image processing would be high by up to 53.82% on average. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Pressure measurement device via a wireless network for the seat cushion(2022-01-01); ;Hewchaiyapum, C. ;Seangsuwan, N. ;Techahongsa, P.This paper presents wireless pressure measuring devices for the seat cushion consisting of an air cushion which reduces the chances of developing a pressure ulcer. A force sensor resistor (FSR sensor) is placed in the position where pressure is most likely to occur. FSR sensor is put under air cushions to help distribute the pressure and reduce the damage which may happen to the sensor. The pressure is applied to the sensors, they will send the data to the microcontroller (Arduino MEGA 2560) and then transmit data via Bluetooth to LabVIEW for display on the monitor screen with the measured pressure range which is divided into different colors. If the pressure is continuously applied for a period of 30 minutes, there will be a notification via the LED light to allow the user to change their sitting positions to reduce the likelihood of pressure ulcers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Applied to reuse steam condensate water in Medium petrochemical plant to boiler feed water(2022-01-01); ;Seekhieo, A.In Thailand's petrochemical industrial estate which has a small or medium-size plant, boiler feed water is bought from the external boiler feed water provider to use in an incinerator to make steam for plant use, and the steam condensate water that comes after the incinerator process is sold back to the provider as well. The cost gap between bought water and sold water is considered a waste since the income gained from selling post-boiled water is less than expenses from bought water. In this paper, the research to improve the steam condensate water quality and reuse the water has been proposed. This application is to be considered to build the steam condensate treatment unit for treating water potential to reduce the overall operation cost (OPEX). Users can monitor the temperature, humidity, and system operation via the application. The problem of injuries from falls or symptoms related to bone injuries are symptoms that veterinarians diagnose as potentially treatable by external splinting to allow the bones to fully fuse. Differences in physiology are limitations in splinting and structuring the splint. This research introduces 3D printing technology to help the creation of splints for pets to increase treatment options using innovations or concepts. Study the current state of external splinting treatment methods for pets and design the research method was started by scanning organs to be splinted with a 3D scanner. The 3D images are then used to creat a model for splinting by designing with the Sintratec 3D modeling computer program. Then create the splints by burning plastic powder crystals to harden with a 3D printer and clean the surfaces by sandblasting and polishing. The materials used to create the splints in this study are two types of engineering materials: polyamide12 (PA12), suitable for creating hard splints, and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), suitable for creating soft splints. Both materials have good mechanical properties and are strong impact resistance, chemical resistance, and high heat resistance. The finished splint pieces can be easily split to the pet model, reducing the steps compared to the normal splints, resulting in a shorter splint time, depending on the location or organs the splints are placed, and reducing the pet stress caused by being restrained during splinting. This research presents the introduction of technology and its advantages to help increase treatment options for pet injuries, which is beneficial to pets and pet owners, and helps veterinarians provide appropriate treatment.1
