Item type:Publication, Applying radar chart for process control behavior(2018-06-08); This paper presents the technique to show the controller parameters value that can support decision making of controller action and instruments, actuator operation. In addition, energy consumption is detected of any points of process operation. The paper describes method to detect and collect the assigned process control parameters from process components then display their parameters by radar chart. All of assigned parameters are used to construct the plotted of radar figure. The paper designs background and foreground by representation with rectangular array and length of each spoke in radar chart is proportional to magnitude of set value(SV), manipulate value(MV), process value(PV) of PID controller parameters. In addition, watt power (W) of energy consumption in the process is detected and stored. Each spoke of radar chart represents each parameter that converts to scale as 0-100%. The script functions are developed at the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) station to detect, collect and scale, then store detected parameters in database. The experiments perform in case study of level loop control of water tank processes by using a proportion-integral-derivative (PID) function in the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Wonderware InTouch SCADA software. The technique can apply for exiting SCADA to create the radar chart. Nevertheless, the new version of SCADA software can support the feature but it depends on cost license fee. The proposed technique uses math model for simulation to observe the transience and steady state response in no-load condition. Information derived from the simulation results can be applied to compensate the mechanical loss, inertia, viscous friction by feeding electrical energy. The test results of the compensation technique in this research can adjust and improve the response of speed and torque under reasonable tests. Item type:Publication, Partial Discharge Characteristics of MV Switchgear Using TEV and HFCT Sensors(2024-01-01) ;Kingkham, Sukanya; ;Inwanna, Woranan ;Jeenmuang, SiwakornBuranaaudsawakul, TechatatThis paper presents partial discharge (PD) experiments for a medium voltage (MV) switchgear. Various types of defects were simulated i.e., corona discharge, surface discharge, and floating discharge inside the simulated MV switchgear. The transient earth voltage (TEV) was employed as a PD sensor to acquire the PD signals generated by the simulated PD defects. The TEV sensors were installed on the simulated metal enclosures MV switchgear to detect electromagnetic (EM) pulse radiated through such metal housing. Besides, high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) sensors were also used for a purpose similar to that of a TEV. Based on laboratory test results, it was found that when the external structural material and internal partition wall of the MV switchgear have greater insulation properties, some of the PD signals detected by the TEV sensor tend to exhibit a significant decrease in signal magnitude. The detected PD results of the simulating PD sources inside the MV switchgear will be presented in this paper. The approximation to the integral using Bilinear discretization is proposed. The results from simulation show that the obtained response from the bilinear or Tustin method is better than the ZOH method at the same sampling time. An unmanned bicycle uses a dynamic equilibrium model of gravity and centrifugal force in order to control its steering on the purpose to acceleration's control. The linear quadratic optimal controls have been designed based on linear control theory. The initial state responses from simulation for the camber angle and its estimator have shown that even they are started from difference initial conditions, but both of them have been reached the zero state rapidly. For the camber angle rate and its estimator, they reach to the zero state as well. Although, the oscillation in the transient response is occurred. Hence, it concludes that the Linear Quadratic Regulator can be replaced by Linear Quadratic Gaussian for economy. © 2012 ICROS. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Partial Discharge Characteristics of a Defective MV XLPE Cable(2024-01-01) ;Ekasittiphong, Woraphat; ;Tangthanam, Worasak ;Jeenmuang, SiwakornThis paper presents the partial discharge (PD) test on a 22 kV underground cable having a simulated defect within the XLPE insulation. The defects were simulated using the nail, as the drill bits with a different drill diameter. The defect was created into the XLPE insulation layers of the underground cable. Besides, both end sides of the cable were electric field controlled. To simulate the defects for the experiment, the jacket in the middle of the cable was partially trimmed out, and the drill bits was driven through the insulation screen to the insulation layer. The diameter of the drill bits was controlled for each experiment. The PD experiment was conducted using high frequency current transformer (HFCT) sensor as an unconventional PD detection instrument. From analyzing the PD test results, a defect in the XLPE insulation causes vividly the PD inside the XLPE insulation. Consequently, the insulation gradually deteriorates undergoing the PD events. Moreover, the PD test results indicate that the larger diameter of the nail tip radius results in a higher PD magnitude than that generated by a smaller diameter. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Improving Accuracy in Image-Recognition Systems with Techniques for Handling Similar-Looking Items in Inventory Management(2025-01-01); ; ;Asadi, Farzin ;Ar-Karachaiphong, ChitsanuwitSopha, WatcharaponInventory management is crucial for businesses dealing with many visually similar items. This paper presents the development of an automated board game detection system utilizing computer vision and deep learning to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of tracking visually similar inventory. The dataset used to train the model was collected using a Pi Camera Module 3 mounted on a Raspberry Pi 5, ensuring consistency in captured images. To improve the model's performance, images were annotated using CVAT, and dataset augmentation was applied using Augmentations, incorporating transformations such as flipping, brightness adjustment, blurring, and noise addition. These augmentations allowed the model to learn and differentiate board games under varying environmental conditions accurately. The selected model was YOLOv8m, chosen for its balance between accuracy and computational efficiency. The model was trained for 20 epochs using a learning rate of 0.0005, a batch size of 12, and augmentation techniques such as Mosaic and MixUp. Additionally, overfitting prevention techniques including early stopping, dropout, and weight decay were applied. After training, the model was converted into the ONNX format to optimize it for deployment on embedded devices and then uploaded to the Raspberry Pi 5 for realworld testing. The system was evaluated on 10 visually similar or small-sized board games, with 10 tests per game, totaling 100 trials. The results showed that the model successfully classified all board games without a single error. Moreover, these findings demonstrate that the proposed system effectively identify board games with high accuracy while maintaining real-Time processing capability. The use of data augmentation and model optimization significantly improved object classification performance, making it a promising approach for inventory management in board game cafes and similar environments. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Multi-PLC control system based on wireless bridge/base stations for work-in-process movements in corrugated box manufacturer(2018-12-10); ;Jearnpanitpong, Woravut; This paper presents a practical technique to design and implement a cooperative control of two groups with three conveyors and two rail guided vehicles (RGVs) by using two master and two slave programmable logic controllers (PLCs), respectively. The controlled conveyors and RGVs are utilized for work-in-process (WIP) movements between a corrugator and six printing machines in a manufacturer of corrugated paper boxes. The proposed technique is based on the use of wireless bridge/base stations modeled Ubiquiti Rocket M5 and Loco M5 for interconnections of two master PLCs modeled Omron CJ2M-CPU31, two slave PLCs modeled Omron CP1L-M40DT-D and connected with Omron CP1W-EIP61 module, and a host application over a control network to communicate with each other through EtherNet/IP technology. Input and output devices of each controlled subsystem are hardwired to each PLC. The transmission and reception schemes to enable real-time input/output data exchanges between the PLCs are specified with tag names for cyclic communications on data links. Item type:Publication, Integration of Weighing Indicator with Proprietary Commands into PLC-Based System Using Modbus Protocol(2017-01-01) ;Chanka, Lerson; ;Julsereewong, PrasitThis paper presents a technique to integrate a stand-alone weighing indicator with proprietary commands into a monitoring system of industrial production processes. The proposed technique is based on creating a new function block of the programmable logic controller (PLC) used in weighing machine control for converting weighing indicator commands into the Modbus-RTU commands. Creation of the function block operated in the PLC modeled CP1L-M30DR-D for converting commands of the AD-4401 weighing indicator to display on the Panel Master touch-screen monitor is described as an illustrative case study. Based on the proposed method, weighing data at the field site for local readout can be added into process data monitoring at the human machine interface (HMI) station of the PLC-based system. This enables ease of upgrading the weighing machine used, which has weighing indicator with local readout display. Performance of the proposed system integration is verified by experimental results.
