Item type:Publication, Rhodamine 6G and Au–Pd core–shell nanorods: Fluorescence enhancement for detection of mercury(2018-01-01) ;Rammarat, Ekkachai ;Kraithong, Sasiwimon ;Wanichacheva, Nantanit ;Swanglap, PattanawitWe show that hybrid organic–inorganic particles are efficient for accurate sensing of mercury ions and following up trace amounts of the mercury pollutions spread in the environment. The process of synthesis of a working substance starts from preparation of rhodamine 6G derivative. Then the dye molecules are bound on the surface of Au–Pd core–shell nanorods. Mercury ions with different concentrations are finally attached onto this fluorescence sensor. Fluorescence emission of the sensor is detected with a luminescence spectrophotometer. The experimental results demonstrate that the fluorescence intensity of one of our sensors, a sensor B, is remarkably enhanced when the mercury-ion concentration increases from 0 to 15.5 µM. The limit of detection of the ions is as low as 20.6 nM. The working mechanism of our fluorescence sensor can be explained through the fluorescence-energy transfer and the plasmonic effect associated with spirolactam forms of rhodamine and conducting bimetallic nanoparticles. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Growth stage detection for food consumption management in smart cricket farming using a deep learning technique(2025-11-01) ;Nutnoi, Nitipoom; ; ; This research proposed a novel method for tracking and predicting the growth stages of two-spotted crickets, reared in a temperature-controlled box at different growth stages using the YOLOv5s model. The images of crickets feeding inside the rearing box were taken with an infrared camera above the feeding point every hour. Images of the cricket were used to train a YOLOv5s model to detect crickets for each growth stage in the rearing box. The experimental results showed that the trained deep learning had an average accuracy of 95.7%. The relationship between the ratio of crickets at each growth stage throughout the 45-day rearing period was plotted and discussed. The results also showed a clear relationship between the amount of food consumed by crickets per day and their growth stage, which could be useful for appropriately managing food consumption according to the growth stage of crickets. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Backward Third-Harmonic Pulse Generation in a One-Dimensional PIM/NIM Structure(2018-12-19); ;Wicharn, S.In this work, a set of couple-mode equations for describing a backward third harmonic generation (BTHG) in a one-dimensional periodic structure of positive-index material (PIM) layers and third-order nonlinear negative-index material (NIM) layers was analysed using multiple-scale method. Due to the negative-index phase matching and band-edge field enhancement the intensities of backward third-harmonic pulsed generated from the PIM/NIM periodic structure is increased for 100 time of those generated from a single NIM medium. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Growth and characterization of novel optoelectronic materials. Based on II-VI inorganic/organic heterostructures(2006-01-01); ;Keawprajak, Anusit; ; Novel optoelectronic materials based on II-VI inorganic/organic low-dimensional heterostructure were successfully grown by electron beam evaporator. The structures were based on ZnSe, tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq<inf>3</inf>) and N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-benzidine (TPD). The surface morphology of the structures was investigated by atomic force microscopy and field emission scanning electron microscope. The optical and electronic properties were examined by photoluminescence, photocurrent and electroreflectance spectroscopy. Photoluminescence spectra of the ZnSe/Alq <inf>3</inf>/ZnSe structure attributed to the change of exciton energy as a result of quantum confinement showed the formation of single quantum well structure. The luminescence color can be varied by changing the thickness of the Alq<inf>3</inf> layer. The other heterostructure of ZnSe/Alq<inf>3</inf>/TPD was grown on silicon substrate. The wavelength response of this structure shown by photocurrent signal ranged from 450 nm to 1100 nm. Electroreflectance features due to optical transition energy of the single quantum well of this structure were also observed. Under applied voltage, electroreflectance signals showed significant shift due to the quantum confined Stark effect. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Optical properties of Mn-doped CdS thin films grown by the SILAR method(2018-12-19) ;Phasook, N. ;Kamoldirok, S.In this research, the manganese doped cadmium sulfide (Mn-doped CdS) thin films were synthesized on glass substrates using successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The thin films were prepared by different mixing percentage of manganese with cadmium sulfide precursors in the range of 1 - 20 mole%. The optical properties were investigated by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. Item type:Publication, Electroreflectance and photocurrent measurement of ZnSe/Alq 3/TPD heterostructure on Si-substrate(2005-11-20); ;Keawprajak, A.; ; The optical transition energy in ZnSe/tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq<inf>3</inf>)/N,N′-bis(3-methylphenyl)-N,N′-diphenyl-benzidine (TPD) heterostructure were investigated by room-temperature electroreflectance (ER) and photocurrent (PC) measurements. PC signal showed wavelength response of the device in the range of 450-1100 nm. ER features due to optical transition energy of the single quantum well of this structure were observed. The transition energies were determined by fitting the ER spectra to the theoretical line-shape expression. The subband transition energy decreased with increasing well thickness. Under applied voltage, both ER signals show significant shift due to the quantum confined Stark effect. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. Item type:Publication, Dry film Holographic grating based on computer-generated mask Lithography(2022-01-01) ;Inneam, Chanikan ;Tipawan Khlayboonme, S.; ; This paper presented an alternative technique for fabricating the dry film holographic grating based on a mask generated by computer simulation and experimental results. The mask was generated by a fringe pattern which is created by the mathematical model of two beams interference with various angles. Computer simulation of the fringe pattern was printed on film, i.e., the holographic grating mask. The mask was attached on dry film and then illuminated by UV light, where the lithography technique was applied. According to the lithography technique, the computer-generated holographic grating mask was transferred to dry film. After fabrication, fringe patterns obtained from the grating were observed. Then, the grating period was analyzed and confirmed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Item type:Publication, The effect of red, blue, green and white light emitting diodes on pigment content and sugar accumulation in wheatgrass(2021-01-28); ;Sartpan, SirichaiKamondilok, SurachartThis research studied the effect of light-emitting diode (LED) on pigment content and sugar accumulation in wheatgrass. The wheatgrass was cultured under different lighting conditions, consisting of white (W), red (R, 660 nm), blue (B, 480 nm), and green (G, 525 nm) LEDs. The daily light integral is 2.33 mol/day in 7 days. The wheatgrass was cultured in a close system at a temperature of 25±1 ℃ and humidity of 75 ± 3 %. In the experiment, the completely randomized design was used with three replications of 100 seedings. The wheatgrass that was grown under red and blue light with ratio 1:1 yield a chlorophyll A of 1.0363 mg/L, chlorophyll B of 0.4189 mg/L, and carotenoid of 0.3208 mg/L. The sugar accumulation of 8.234 mg/L is a maximum under the red, green, and blue treatment with statistical significance. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study of structural and optical properties of PbS thin films(2018-01-01) ;Homraruen, T. ;Sudswasd, Y. ;Sorod, R.; This research aimed to synthesize lead sulfide (PbS) thin films on glass slides using the successive ion layer absorption and reaction (SILAR) method. We studied the optical properties and structure of PbS thin films by changing the number of dipping cycles and the concentration of precursor solution. The results of this experiment show that different conditions have a considerable influence on the thickness and absorbance of the films. When the number of dipping cycles and the concentration of the solution are increased, film thickness and absorbance tend to become higher. The xrays diffraction pattern showed all the diffraction peaks which confirmed the face center cubic and the structure of PbS had identified. Grain size computation was used to confirm how much these conditions could be affected. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Digital holography system for undergraduate student laboratory(2015-01-01); ;Plaipichit, S.; Yoshimori, K.In this paper, we discuss the digital holography (DH) experiment in our optical and communication laboratory course for undergraduate students at Physics department, KMITL. The purposes of DH experiment are presenting our students the meaning and advantage of DH and its applications. The Gabor configurations of in-line DH has been set up for recording a number of samples, which were placed on different distances, simultaneously. Then, the images of all objects have been numerical reconstructed by using computer. The students have been learned that all of reconstructed images have been got from only one time recording, while using the conventional recording technique, sharp images of different objects have been gotten from different recording time. The students also have been learned how to use DH technique for investigation some different kinds of samples on their own of interested such as a human hair or a fingerprint. In our future work, our DH system will be developed to be a portable apparatus for easily showing to children in different areas.
